Yes. Weekend I will send a email to SIMBA to offer a deal to settle the case, if they ignore again then I will go to CASE and get them to drag SIMBA out to mediate and discuss a settlement.

IMDA cant do anything except telling SIMBA to respond to my issue, they told me to continue to liaise with SIMBA and if still unable to settle and I want to pursue the matter, go to CASE

Probably a netlink fiber issue? The fiber from the house connects to Simba co via netlink. I have heard cases where signal strength is low due to fiber problems resulting in lots of errors giving low bandwidth.

Day 11 without usable internet service. The technician they sent down is of no help. He is contractor for SIMBA, their main job is to do the installation for new sign-ups and all the guy did was check the ONT modem, FO cable ethernet cable are working. He did a speedtest on his iphone 15 pro max, his company laptop, all gave the same result of less than 1mbps of speed. He did not bring down a spare ONT modem to test because SIMBA did not approve it and the trip was just to verify the issue I described. He then came back again in the afternoon, probably after reporting back to SIMBA, they decided to place ONT modem which gave the same results.

TDLR - issue not fixed, no improvements, haven't gotten back to me whats next. most likely moving into the weekend with 13 days of no service from SIMBA.

P.S technician told me i am not the only user experiencing such issue, there are many and he doesn't know what is the eventual outcome or solution
Sounds like a backend issue and not an ONT issue or your computer.

Since their subcon tech tested ont using their own eqt, user problem is avoided.
Did they happen to test the optical power at the source with another FO patch cord and then thru ur FO cord?
If signal is good range then is simba backend problem liao, not the UE nor infra liao.

They used some kind of device to test the FO wire, the FO port, no abnormality.
Day 14 without any solution or timeline from SIMBA.

I understand majority of the users have no issue, but beware that once you kena, you will wish you never touch SIMBA.

Just wanted to add i connected to simba about 3 weeks ago but only today i bring laptop with 2.5g usb ethernet to test myself (house still renovation).

Using same laptop + usb dongle:

Starhub - at current place d:950 u:950
Simba - at place under reno: d:200 u:800...

The support ask me to connect to ONT directly and do 3 speedtests and send picture of proof of my set-up. Tomolo go onsite and check again. given how i've nothing connected at the reno house and the download is 200mbps while the upload is 800... my guess its' their back end got congestion, but they said they won't escalate unless i submit my test results first.

Sian man. already regretting signing up and i haven't even move in.

try speedtest.sgix.sg?

They are peering at sgix so you should be able to at least get 1gbps up and down.

Thanks sir - will give it a shot tomorrow
Location?
Central/Adam Road area

been reading the messages and i'll check if the cables are fully unwound as well. i know it was moved quite abit so the coil might be too tight. but my upload is 800mbps so i'm guessing shouldn't be my equipment problem.

Plan to subscribe to the broadband, asked them about the brand and model of the router provided but no confirmation except reply :

We do not have the specific list as this info is only available via the registered ONT installers.

i am currently using ROG AX-11000 , which comes with a 2.5G lan port, at the beginning thought of selling it off on carousell, but now i think whether to reuse it for simba.

ROG vs Simba router , which one is better ?

If i use my existing router will simba technician still help to do set up and speed test ?

Just to update:
Since initial down time on the 2nd day of the activation (~1hr), so far the broadband seems to be pretty good and value for money for average users. Ignore the 100-200 Mbps that was probably due to my router, the average should be around 900+Mbps for me. The direct modem connection was around 1500-1600 Mbps (initial graph). The router is the bottle neck here as I am using very old Asus RT-AC88 which is only have 1Gbps port. The network card is 2.5Mbps from AliExpress, cpu AMD 5900x, 64GB ram.
If your tasks aren't critical and know some basic trouble shooting, I think it isn't that bad to switch. My Youtube is default at 1080, and have no issue 1440p50. The old M1 500Mbps was only able to 720p.

I don't know how long this would last, if it goes down then not much help options available. If it is working then it is great.

For those keen on Simba router, they are selling these:
"
Dear customer, should you require a 2.5G router that’s compatible to your SIMBA Broadband 2.5Gbps service, we have options for you!

1) TP-Link Router Archer AX55 Pro V2 2.5G (Compatible 2.5G Router)
(c/w 1 x 2.5G WAN port & 1 x 2.5G LAN port) @ $305.20 nett

2) Ruijie Router 3200 @ $216.91 nett
"
Of cos you can get those cheaper from the online platforms.

For those who want to replace the 1gbps routers to a 2.5gbps one, I think acquiring it from SIMBA (from the 2 options) is a no-brainer. I prefer to make Simba a one-stop shop so they can do end-to-end troubleshooting. They'll have no excuse that router is not compatible/spoil/low-end whatever.
