Any idea if the price of $36.50 will change / increase if I let the current contract lapse and never recontract with M1?

For 500Mbps plan, Starhub and M1 do not change the price after contract expires (Starhub has been like this for very long, M1 was a new addition).

For 1Gbps plan, I believe Starhub/M1 will have higher price after contract expires just like Singtel, since the 1Gbps price is considered as promotional price.

Hopefully users of Starhub/M1 1Gbps plan will confirm whether I am correct or not. I have Singtel 1Gbps plan and Starhub 500Mbps plan.

As predicted, they were only going to announce plans by end September.

Actual deployment expected end of 1H FY24. Not sure if their fiscal year starts in Jan or more traditionally in April. If the latter, full launch expected only this time next year.

I

Good news for those staying in North east. Should also open to the new New estate like Tengah as quite a number of home owners already got their keys to their flats
Do not be too happy as no one know how is their network going to be. Most people will need to use their home WiFi for work so if the network is not stable then will be very troublesome la.

If FY ends 31 July, that means it begins 1 Aug.

FY 2024 meaning it is slated for earliest 1Aug 2024. Being 1H of FY2024, this means the window runs up to 31 Jan 2025. Given their past track record of making announcements right at the end of the window, I won't be surprised if we only hear about it in Jan 2025 then.

You mixed up Fiscal Year and Gregorian year. Jan 2024 is 1H FY2023.

Simba still need to install their servers in the telecom equipment room for each block as well as in the MDF room for each cluster of blocks to manage the connections and traffic. I peeked into my block's equipment room, it is pretty congested with 5 existing players.

Is SIMBA going to have ONT or ONR for their fibre network connection ? If it’s ONT, I will be jumping ship once the current contract ends.

Huh? I thought FY24 refers to the period 1 Aug 2023 to 31 Jul 2024? Their latest full year results is for FY2023 which covers the period ended 31 Jul 2023.

Yes you are right.

Their FY23 report covers FY23 (1 August 2022 to 31 July 2023).
https://www.listcorp.com/asx/tua/tuas-limited/news/fy23-investor-presentation-2927178.html

So Q1 FY24 will be until 30 Oct 2023, H1 FY24 will be until 31 Jan 2024. That means they will have full launch of the 2.5Gbps service in Singapore by 31 Jan 2024.

Just wondering why major ISP like Starhub not willing to launch 2.5Gbps internet. Actually it is much easier for home user to upgrade to 2.5G network as Users may not need to change the Cat. 5e LAN cable. The usb to 2.5Gbps LAN adaptor is available in many superstore and not too expensive too. If just one laptop or computer at home on wired connection then 2.5Gbps is more than enough.

Aiyah have to wait again. Luckily VQ confirmed my 500 mpbs sub will remain at the same price even though no more contract and they don't offer this plan anymore.
