Cloudflare seems like capped.
I've used to test US servers from CA, that reflects about the true latency I got when playing on US servers, night time (their day) will be worse, but will have more players online:

Anyway, WC latency isn't great. Last time MR slightly better at ping 171 ms.

Starhub's 10Gbps price is also about 30. Just that the router price divide by 24 months add on to it so around 70. Then they throw in EPL. But still not enticing to those who don't watch EPL or prefer cheaper router. Think you can get Xiaomi 10Gbps (dual 10G port) for under 300.

24mths contract always a pain

As others have mentioned, a 10Gbps plan/router isn't necessary for typical users, so there's no need to opt for such an advanced router. We're in a transition period where plans will become more affordable soon.

True. Depends after contract ended, if the ISP is still maintaining same price, then decide whether or not they want to sign up with Simba.
Their previous 21.80 for 2.5Gbps was quite good, but now changed to 30, forcing everyone to go with 10Gbps.

So then see if you are ok to pay 30, continue using as 1Gbps or 2.5Gbps depending on your current still working router, upgrade later OTOT.
If their uptime is stable then everything is fine.

thanks!

but hmm... i still prefer the ONT setup though... dislike ONR haha
ONT is more flexible.

Can use own router.

Using ONR will need complex setup for any personal wifi router connected to the ONR

If never configure properly will have double NAT issues

1) It depends on how you calculate the value of the bundled TP-Link EB810v router. Take note it is locked to Starhub.

Nominal value: S$720 (claimed usual price by Starhub)
Starhub selling price: S$360 (S$15 per month * 24 months, 50% Off of the claimed usual price)
Carousell BNIB selling price: S$360 to S$400.

If you calculate using the nominal value, then the monthly price of Starhub 10Gbps becomes S$69.95 - S$30 = S$39.95 with EPL.

If you calculate using S$360 offload pricing, then the monthly price of Starhub 10Gbps becomes S$69.95 - S$15 = S$54.95 with EPL.

Basically if you need EPL, go for Starhub 10Gbps plan. If you do not need, then the Starhub 5Gbps plan is better.

2) If you do not mind using Nokia ONR, Starhub promotion on the 5Gbps plan at S$29.55 per month is of very good value.

UltraSpeed 5Gbps with Wifi 6 router
$29.55 per month
Includes 1 10Gbps Optical Network Router (Wifi 6) + additional 1 unit Wifi 6 router (Nokia Beacon 2)

Very tempted to upgrade to that starhub plan from my M1 500mbps since give free router and higher speed

To be clear, I can keep my m1 number when porting over right? Since it says free number retention?

Any other catch?

I remember for starhub, need pay termination fee if want change isp

Should have been made illegal imo but dk imda got act on it or not

So basically other than having to pay Xtra for home line, no other hidden fees or catch like this simba?

The promotional price of $2.14 is fixed forever or only for x months?

Edit: seems like need to pay alot of one time fee to have the home line as well, hopefully it's only for Ala carte installation

1) Main catch is that this is supposed to be for new customers and the terms and conditions are not clear. You have to check with Starhub.
https://www.starhub.com/personal/st...speed-5gbps-onr-at-2955_ultraspeed-5gbps.html

2) Another main catch is the use of Nokia XGS-PON all-in-one ONR (XS-2426X-A, WiFi AX6000) which many power users will not like. The free mesh node is Nokia Beacon 2 which is also lousy.

3) Most likely you can port your digital voice number. Those one time charge should not apply if you sign up for Starhub Fibre internet plan. You can double confirm with Starhub.

4) Yes, Starhub charges termination fee of S$32.70.
https://www.starhub.com/personal/broadband/other-charges.html

5) Should be 24 month contract. After 24 months, all the ISP 5Gbps/10Gbps plans will reduce price so no need to worry.

Eh, I'm using ONR.
Also using my own router though.
2 routers infact. One set as AP, with same wifi ssid as before, so my devices can just connect seamlessly.
The other router testing dual WAN, this is set as normal router. So I can access the admin as per normal.
