Oh dear, was about to purchase the SIMBA's 5G plan at $10/month. Found out so many connectivity issues, guess theres a reason why its 5G plan is so much cheaper than others...? Lucky didnt port my main number to SIMBA yet.

If your signing up with SIMBA exclusively for 5G, you’re going to be so so disappointed.

Currently able to connect to 5G (NSA).

When I do manual search for network, can see Simba 4G and Simba 5G. But unable to connect to Simba 5G. Only Simba 4G can connect.

Does anyone here able to connect to the Simba 5G under the Manual Network Search.

Well, lucky for you that your home has strong signals.

My high floor unit is having very poor signal reception, majority of the time at less than 8 Mbps and also frequently encounter no service at all. :(

Your speed is very normal to many other users at home.

What would you recommend rather insteaD? M1 claimed their 5G connectivity is True 5G unlike others, guess we should rather spend a few bucks per month for connnectivity reliabilty eh? They provide esim somemore

Yeah it's True 5G, truely unavailable most of the time 5G.
If you want 5G and esim, there's Vivifi on Singtel's 5G network which you'll be able to actually use 90% of the time.

THis company look very amateruish with their product marketing. Over-fancy brochure everywhere, no proper explanation of what the term offer. Kinda worries me lolz. Are you using it now? How long have you been using? So far all good? Hope wont close shop few weeks later..

Do you suggest I take Vififi Binge 5g with e-sim?

I hope dont close shop the instant I transfer my number to the telco, my main line have been with me for about 15+ years

Your phone can handle true 5G consistently? Got people in another thread saying their latest iPhone and top-tier Samsung phone, must either do some network reset or turn aeroplane mode on and off before the speed test gives them the 900Mbps numbers. After a few days, the speed will drop back to 200Mbps and they need to reset again.

That one is nonsense, my (not the latest model) iPhone doesn’t have that problem on zym/vivifi 5G.

Singapore talk so much about 5G... Want to be the leading... Now even Malaysia win us.

Even Singapore in land can receive Malaysia network.
Singapore a small dot with 4 telco, still so many airplane spots.

Our telco all wants the profit than improving the quality. Took so many government initiative funding but give f quality.
Why not? As long as the cell towers are positioned high enough with an antenna facing Singapore, it can travel 6km for 4G and 5km for 5G. If Telcos want to pull the cable to our ulu coastal area, perhaps they need to rely on Netlink which has a monopoly over the optic fibre network in Singapore. In some ulu places, the cable network is really not there. Maybe only the first SG telco has some old copper landline cable network linking up to those ulu areas.

Im not sure tbh, i have never used 5g :x

i use iphone 12 pro, gonna upgrade to 15 pro max soon tho.. as i do alot of trading transactions over phone apps and spend a lot of time gazing at phone to make important decisions,

for me, the current best smartphone and the best network available right now is a good investment.

you can try it for yourself to see if it fits your use case.

I trying heya this weekend, buying a new sim card just to play around.

Will try another telco after using it for a week (that is if heya isnt good enough) but forr sure i wouldnt try this anymore.

why would i try something that implies very high probability of losing $$$ with no value for myself when all the red flags are already up suggesting so?

my case is just simple common end user, if they cannot satisfy common end user case, then for sure its not relevant for me
