I trying heya this weekend, buying a new sim card just to play around.

Will try another telco after using it for a week (that is if heya isnt good enough) but forr sure i wouldnt try this anymore.

why would i try something that implies very high probability of losing $$$ with no value for myself when all the red flags are already up suggesting so?

my case is just simple common end user, if they cannot satisfy common end user case, then for sure its not relevant for me

For heya you'll have to remember to buy plan every 30 days. You might want to try ZYM, which you can tie a card for auto deduction. Both runs on Singtel. However, heya has VoLTE but not for ZYM yet.

For Simba, it depends on your location, so long as you're not along coastal lines of Singapore all the time, you shall be fine.

Oh dear, was about to purchase the SIMBA's 5G plan at $10/month. Found out so many connectivity issues, guess theres a reason why its 5G plan is so much cheaper than others...? Lucky didnt port my main number to SIMBA yet.
I think if dont have problem with current Telco, don't change.

Anyone tried porting out at end of minimum contract period for SIMBA (30days from activation otherwise $30 activation fee will be charged)?
My current cycle expiry is 10th Nov.
Wondering if anyone tried and can advise when is the date I can submit port in to other telco while not getting charged the penalty fee and having minimum network disruption

I think it is fair to say it meets the needs of most common end-users, or else their subscriber base will not grow by 200k every year. People only complain when they have a problem, when everything working fine, they won't waste time complimenting. So behind every unhappy customer, there might be 10 to 20 happy ones. The same applies to all Telco, even though many complaining about M1, I doubt it will have any big impact on the subscriber base. The positioning of the Telcos base stations determines whether you get good coverage or not. E.g. for me, living room, I can get 4G+, if I move to the kitchen I can only tap on 4G from a base station in another direction which slows the speed down despite still having full signals. Just by closing the windows and drawing out the curtains in full, my 4G+ signals can get cut by half also, that's how sensitive the signals are or perhaps my phone too lousy. You can just ask other mobile users in places where you most frequent and see how the reception differs between the Telcos and which one is the best.

Just hope they are releasing their SA support by end of the year.

5G SA and VoNR will be deployed in the first half of next year. SIMBA targets the coverage to reach 60% island by end of 2023.

I currently have 0.2gb left for my roaming data, but I don't see the option to purchase more gb. How does it work? I have topped up another $10 into my account, not sure if it is auto deduction? I suppose it will be $4/gb for Malaysia, so it will just deduct another $4 when necessary?

I have ported out of simba on the first month after the auto deduction failed. If you use CC to pay you need to change to a blank value Debit card, like singtel dash, or just temporary lock your card, so the auto deduction will fail. (change the card via simba website)

No harm trying it out, since the $30 fee will only be charged to the simba wallet, not cc. it is around the 27/30 day of your cycle. You should receive an sms once auto deduction failed, thats when you can port out.

I ported out to vivifi, because i can submit the port in any time i want. You can use similar telco like giga, or just time it perfectly.

Here is picture proof, when the line is "terminated", means i have successfully ported out.

What speed are you expecting?
:)

Well Simba is my secondary line, hence do not expect too much, maybe around mid 2 digits should be good enough.

For my primary line, I am using ZYM.
Speedtest at my residence with ZYM.

so you all top up ahead or when cycle come then top?
Bought topup in shopee app when still could apply the 30% live voucher last month. ($10 - 30% voucher) - 0.5% paynow discount - 30% shopee coins = $4.87.

My simba account wallet has $180 left.
