So TPG is using Huawei, some people will have a problem there.

Are Singtel, Starhub, M1 also on Huawei, anyone know?

Singtel, Starhub and M1 are on Nokia Or Ericsson.

Singtel tons of huawei switches at the edge network that maybe your Ericsson 5G is connected to. Even your fibre broadband ONT is Huawei. Don’t be trumped and trust those nonsense.

Else you can start terminating all your Internet, mobile and don’t even take SMRT train. Maybe even cannot go out since SPF camera also Huawei.

China will track you everywhere based on Trump

5G is now available to all TPG subscribers. IMDA has just given their approval for TPG to conduct a 5G NSA Market Trial which will run till 31st December 2021 on a limited basis. This will provide subscribers with some early benefits of 5G which include higher network speeds and lower latencies.

No registration is required! All SIM-only plan subscribers (excluding Prepaid) who have a compatible 5G smartphone will automatically be provisioned with 5G NSA services. For more information on compatible 5G smartphones and our 5G coverage areas, please check out our FAQs section below.

Technically savvy and curious subscribers may wish to note that the 5G NR RAN for this Market Trial is based on our existing 2.3GHz spectrum (n40). This means that we are able to easily upgrade our existing RAN with minimal physical works resulting in a far quicker rollout than if a new spectrum were to be deployed. The cost savings from this allows us to offer this early 5G experience at no increased cost to all SIM-only plans (excluding Prepaid).

TPG is also rolling out our 5G mmWave coverage on a new spectrum licensed to us (n257/n258). This will augment the bandwidth available to all our subscribers and is expected to deliver multi-gigabit speeds in a variety of applications.

We look forward to having you onboard at this exciting point in our journey. Do sign up soon as IMDA has mandated that this Market Trial must end by the end of this year (unless an extension is granted).

Why not get a nicer number from another telco then port in to TPG? Plenty at GOMO and GIGA. I assume MAXX will also have a decent selection since they're trying to attract customers.

I think there aren't many nice numbers left for TPG. :( Didn't see anything about them getting allocated new number blocks, so they are reusing what they have left.

silly me, this didnt cross my mind! haha

ok, say now i sign up for Giga. Giga sends me their simcard, i use for 1month, port over to TPG. TPG will send me a simcard too right? I wonder what are the cost behind all these. As I am currently using Giga as my primary, i remember there was no delivery fee or additional cost for the delivery. Not to sure about porting over to TPG...

Just check their terms and conditions, and time your billing cycles. They all do not refund unused portions. Some have minimum terms of contract (for some MVNOs, 3 months).

A lot of them have a cancellation clauses that's typically 1 week before the billing cycle, so you want to initiate your port out some 10 days before the next cycle. Better to "lose" 10 days than pay a whole month for nothing. So use for 3 weeks then port out.

Monitor it closely though. I heard Giga was blocking porting out the past few months - more than a few people were complaining their porting out requests failed. And the reasons were not very valid ones (ie, owing them months of bills, but you have a credit card on file so there is no debt). Doing it a bit earlier gives you more time to contact IMDA and push the porting through - number porting is not forbidden.

I don't know about current ones, but they were 86-89 iirc. And because a lot of trial users gave up their lines, a lot of them went back to be reused.

Many nicer numbers were ported out or retained. I know I ported mine out. :s13: 88ABBACB

To answer my own question. haha
I used the TPG app to register for new line on Monday night, the simcard should have been delivered to my mailbox on Wednesday late noon, thus this morning (Thursday) I saw it among the letters. Pretty fast (free i suppose?) actually, though would have appreciate if there can be notifications telling me to track...

This is the second time I signed for TPG line. The first was the initial period when it was free, and I cancelled the line when the payment started. I was using old Redmi Note 4 with it, no issues at all. Now this new simcard I am using on an old Vivo 1820 smartphone on the newly received TPG simcard, but i noticed I cannot make voicecall directly, and I have to use the TPG 4G voice app. is this normal??? I didnt have this issue when I was using the free line on Redmi Note 4...

tpg uses volte

redmi note 4 supports volte.

Vivo 1820 should support too, go to settings -> mobile network to turn on.
