The latest iOS update allows u transfer eSIM from phone to phone. No need spend $5 to dekit and re-enrol.

for your reference:
https://support.apple.com/en-sg/HT212780#:~:text=Transfer a physical SIM or,tap Transfer From Another iPhone.
Says right in the first para the feature requires telco support. Did you actually managed to do it?

Some network providers support SIM transfers from your previous iPhone to your new iPhone without needing to contact them. You can also convert your current physical SIM card to an eSIM.

1 week plus into SIMBA.

Here's some ratings!

  1. 5G - Great 4/5 (well no one in singapore has perfect signal so far)
  2. LTE/4G - Fantastic 5/5 (even if i'm getting 1 bar for that few deadspots in the meeting rooms, i'm still connected to browse social media and send messages)
  3. 2GB Free Roaming in Malaysia - Great 4/5 (fantastic 5G & LTE from Tuas -> Eco Botanic -> Bukit Indah -> Gelang Patah) Data reported is accurate!
  4. Calls (WhatsApp or Direct) 5/5 - Always connected quickly without waiting for signal even with 5 bars on M1.

I have nothing negative about SIMBA thus far, only hearing people moving away from M1 (terrible experience) and Singtel (low value for cost) to SIMBA.
but my parents never listen

Hi guys! Can I check with you all that the roaming 1GB international, is it all countries within the Group A? Cos it said up to 59 destination countries with data roaming and I calculated to 59 counties in their group A category. I am debating whether or not to buy data roaming eSIM (for example Eskimo) to store a number of GBs as they have validity of 2 years where I can use globally, or should I top up SIMBA ewallet so the excess roaming can just deduct from there as $4/gb quite reasonable. I normally visit countries mostly in group A but I have only tried SIMBA with Malaysia. Not sure how is the network connectivity with other counties works. Any suggestion will be great! Thanks guys!

Which specific country you are heading? Many of us shared our experience roaming in these 59 countries. Personally for some of my trips overseas, I tried using simba roaming instead of getting an eSIM like ICC from shopee.

It worked well for me, countries I visited are Finland, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Taiwan, Malaysia. I topped up extra $5 to $10 for excess data. Simba is very fair as they deduct per 10MB basics instead of 1GB $4.

Many other users here shared they have roamed successfully in South Korea, Japan, Australia, Thailand, USA and China (Google and WhatsApp works).

I feel its cheaper to use simba for data roaming if you are not using like more than 3GB. Reason being, some eSIM dealers have plans like 1GB/day and thereafter throttled speed, prices are quite reasonable.

But if you are on the simba plan with 10GB international roaming, it's better to stick with simba roaming.

The countries that I visit normally are Indonesia (Batam and Bintan), Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia (Johor, KL, Melaka), Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, London etc.. mostly under group A.

I am using $10 plan for SIMBA so only 1GB roaming. I planned to top up SIMBA wallet for excess roaming instead of buying Shopee/Eskimo eSIM.

I don’t know if will exceed 3GB roaming or not as it depending on the number of days I stayed overseas but I think it shouldn’t be a problem as if deduct per 10MB. I can just top up the wallet.

Hearing from you, seems like SIMBA also got good international roaming. Maybe I can give it a try!

But I realised that regardless, Shopee eSIM like cheaper. They have like 2-3GB per day for less than $4 per day. Haha. But I guess it is convenience or savings in the end.

I used that before. With many buts...

They are mostly Hong Kong esim. Tiktok banned. Their speeds are mostly not as fast, their network partners are second tier network operators, slower.

not only that, those who complain, expects pays budget plan, but expect Singtel 5G express pass level. Imagine paying $10 for a meal, but expect Ritz Carlton Hotel style fine dining.

Wait till they travel overseas, many metro in Europe or USA don't even have cell network underground. Rural areas, weak or no network. Well, we live in a first world society, expect first world, but ...

I was surprised to find out my Simba has 5G which allow me to make voice call, WhatsApp messaging and call, but family members‘ Heya and Circles Life either no signal or struggled at Dairy Farm Wallace Trail yesterday.

There are places Simba coverage weaker than competitors, but it’s improving and acceptable for my usage.

No complain for a $10 plan which incl free 57 country data roaming, free incoming and outgoing roaming calls from and to Singapore numbers, after 6 months of using it.

IMHO.
After so many years, still waiting for TPG now Simba, to improve their weakness.

Provider / Download Mbps / Upload Mbps
SImba 5G / 8.52 / 2.08
TPG 4G / 2.33 / 5.45 <-- unbelievable. upload faster than download.

Heya 4G / 121 / 20.8
Zym 5G / 800 / 52.7

In my home study room,
this morning at 4 am, (while watching brentford vs man utd ) , speed test can get 15 mbps
now 3 pm same location getting 0.7-1.2 mbps

issit due to Simba network congestion, too many users?

IMHO.
Either is too many users or many users streaming video.
You can correlate with the upload speed.
Like my previous speedtest where upload is higher speed than download, most likely is a lot of users streaming video.
