once you up tier, very very difficult to come back down. i have not heard or read (maybe missed 0 of any successful case
Upgrade/downgrade is immediate but days get eaten. Nothing stopping apart from being in the range to up/downgrade.
Have done it multiple times for both.

I didn't know about this...

SIMBA Basic Data Services are a low-speed, capped data connection (192kbps) that subscribers receive when their monthly plan payment fails, allowing them to continue to use free local data, receive calls and SMSs, but lose full-speed data. These services are activated automatically when a plan is due for payment and can be restored to full speed once a successful payment is processed.

yes but when you renew it eats into your suspended period so you only get the remaining days left, therefore wasting money.

for simba your renewal date is fixed. so it is not like eight where you still get the full 30 days if you activate a new plan later

e.g. if you suspend (non payment) the plan for 20 days, your plan renewal will only renew remaining 10 days.
1aug (suspended) -> 20aug (renewed) -> 30aug (plan expires)
yea this is my biggest problem with simba

this year: SZ, GZ, ZH, Macau, Shantou, Ningbo, SH, Beijing.
generally acceptable. didn't test speed, but no problems using.

edit:
- no problems accessing any and all the usual apps i use, including google apps/whatsapp/telegram/tiktok/banking.
- no VPN needed, no VPN used.
- no problems using Alipay or Wechat pay over it.
- could also hotspot.
- no problems with the Simba voice app too (same functionality as when in SG)
How about north east region of China, by now connection speed should be better right? If anyone roaming in shenyang with simba recently?
Plan to visit shenyang in Oct, was thinking use gomo Asia roaming add on, but if there better option?

I have a question hope to get some answer here...

My SuperRoam12 billing cycle is on 1st day of the month. (I already PAID for this month)

If today I upgrde to SuperRoam20, I was ask to pay $20 immediately to change the plan.

Why is it not just top up the different $amount of $8 ?

Each company has it's own way of billing and they don't do any pro-ration.

There is no outstanding amount, it is not a case of default in payment but natural lapse of plan so should not be affecting one's credit rating.
Simba/eight/maxx operate in a prepaid manner so there should not be an issue with owned amount.

Same same but different I suppose. Eg. If one gets golden number and decided to terminate within required committed period and ignore outstanding payment, it will ruin one's credit rating.

True, although I hardly find the golden number to be of any interest, unless those 4 digit price type.

speed will depend on the roaming partner.
not using gomo anymore, so can't comment.

I'm in JB....Just now used Android SIMBA's Voice app to call AUS, I noticed the mins were deducted from my IDD quota.

I thought it was free...did I do something wrong or assumed incorrectly?

If you call AU in SG, it would be deducted from IDD also, why would that be any different just because you roam?
If you call MY that might be a different story.

Simba Voice App is to facilitate a call, when VOLTE isn't available with the roaming network. Deduction is made from the IDD quota.

SIMBA's voice app also has (or had) another purpose: to provide voice and SMS support on devices that support 4G LTE but not VoLTE. Some older devices fit that profile.

This is an upgrade plan from $12 to $20.
So you need pay upfront $20 and old plan ceased and new plan new entitlement 30 days start immediately. So how to prorated.

The $20 plan have very good data Roaming quota suitable for frequently traveling
