SIMBA Telecom discussion thread

My 2024 china rom xiaomi phone mobile network settings no more 5g toggle, always search for 5g. Only has 5g battery saver in battery settings, to reduce power consumption in certain scenarios. To disable 5g needs to enter hidden network settings. However will reboot phone will enable 5g again.

Not sure how is it for xiaomi global rom phones.

no issues with my dad's china rom redmi note 13 pro... 5G SIMBA

no issues with my dad's china rom redmi note 13 pro... 5G SIMBA

My china rom phone does not has problem with simba 5g. I am replying to earlier post about simba 5g SA is higher power consumption and slower speed than simba 4G. Xiaomi china rom by default does not have disable 5G toggle to force 4g only.

I ported out from Simba to Zym, got the termination email from Simba and line got disconnected at 11.30pm last night. Then at 12.30am, Simba sent another automated email saying my previous plan has been renewed, $10 payment processed.

I'm not sure what is happening, line terminated how come they still can renew my plan and charged me. Emailed Simba Support but no reply so far.

Your request too close to renewal date?

You linked your credit card?

I think it has been mentioned a lot of times in this thread.. Just don't link the credit card for auto top up /renewal. Just manual at shops etc. So if you want to port out or terminate, just let it die at 0 credit.

Your request too close to renewal date?

Yes perhaps.

My renewal date is always on 28th or 29th of the month, been with Simba for long time. No idea why this month renewal is a day or 2 earlier. Seems like they deduct it earlier on purpose.

Number got ported out last night, got the termination email from Simba. Yet an hour later they sent another email saying plan has been renewed. If they renew before my line got terminated then fair enough, nothing to say. But this one is terminated already how come still can renew. Unless the renewal was done way earlier in the day, and their notification email only sends out at night.

yes credit card. Wanted to remove it during porting out, but no option to do so, only via form request. Anyway ya just a lesson as you said.

anyone else on Simba $5 data-only plan who topped up $16 and got the 500GB Japan/ China/ S Korea Roaming data added to their account ? The promo page stated its applicanle for all plans.

I SMSed to 1218, option 2 for account balances and cannot see anything about this 500GB being added. Sent query to ask and Simba CS is hopeless - I asked them why I cannot see this 500GB in my balance on SMS, they tell me to go check using 1218...just throwing answers w/o reading customer's queries

The CS via email gave me lousy replies too until I gave up. Ridiculous answers to simple questions, keep going round and round like 鬼打墙. I paid peanuts. So I expected this.

LOL. This is the 2nd time I'm getting rubbish replies from their CS.
Few months ago when I started using their data sim, I could still use their app to check my balance. Then one day suddenly the app wouldn't work for my number.
Asked their CS why it stopped working, they just told me to use 1218 to check.
Seems like their standard answer for everything is "use 1218"

Hi all I would like to confirm the behavior of the rollover mechanism. Say at the end of the 6th month and I have accumulated max roaming data because I have not used any, will all the accumulated roaming data be expired and I start again with just the basic amount of roaming data or it will be a First In First Out behavior like the 1st month rollover unused roaming data gets expired only? Thank you all
