Mrt errors are generally rare but for buses it's possible due to human error. Sometimes the bus stop isn't updated when you enter or exit and you may end up paying more

I don’t think that’s manually updated by the bus captain now though.

it’s based on gps

Does anyone know if it is possible for me to use a debit card with NETs function, and link it to a simplygo account?

So that the debit is only thru the simplygo account and not my bank account?

SimplyGo is not really an account.

when say SimplyGo, is just means it deducts from your bank debit card account (I.e., your bank account)

Here function is irrelevant here

This is why I like SimplyGo. I’ve been overcharged even with EZ-Link cards when bus stop isn’t updated. At least with SimplyGo it’s easier to check

I was an early adopter of SimplyGo when it first started, using MasterCard, and keeping my EZ-link for some of the promos and as back-up .....

I experienced the "1024" transactions limit for contactless transactions ... they took some time to resolve the matter ....

Now I prefer VISA as public transport transactions is updated daily .....

I'm only using SimplyGo with Visa because of the extra 5% rebate from UOB One. Otherwise I would have stuck to Ez Link or Nets FlashPay.

At least the deductions are instant with the latter two and don't have to wait for days to confirm the charges and also delays in submitting possible appeals.

Can see that you are extremely passionate about something and want ppl to read.

but if you don’t realise the importance of paragraphing, you will lose a lot of readers.

do you want to reconsider?

I really don’t think there are much difference between simplygo>visa and simplygo-master. Both services are excellent and progressive.

transaction/trip details through the SimplyGo app is detailed and clear. UI is improving.

you get salary you check bank account(likely internet). You get money transfer you check bank account(likely internet). Annual cpf interest ,you check sccount(likely internet ).

the methodology to verify transaction on a web based account is already happening for so many years. People are just agitated for having to change their habits.

bunch of people refusing to progress

progressing as a smart nation is a noble cause but if there are pockets in the community that suffers because of a lack of empathy then progress is just half-bake.

- think about the elderly who're not as tech savvy and has to deal with such 'progress'
- think about the ethics behind who is responsible for over-charging and who is handling the follow up (expecting customer to pick up the tabs because of the poor reliability of the service provider is, to me, downright unethical as the model is profit-driven as compared to customer-driven)

for something as essential as transport (like housing, utilities, food, etc.), service providers should not be entitled to overly profiting based on unethical framework.

To build credibility you may want stronger arguments though:

- The elderly on the concession card would not be impacted (that is the only way they enjoy the discount senior fares)
- Checking for overcharging is easier today (check it on the app) VS having to remember when tapping out or checking at the Station counter

I switched to simplygo after the public launch previously. I like simplygo as it's convenience. Using the simplygo app it display the fare after every exit so if I know I'm overcharged I will wait a few days to submit claim for it.

There also miles/cashback using CC. I'm using dbs altitude for it to get some miles. Using ez-link I wouldn't even get any rebate..

not to forget, using ezlink we would have to constantly monitor the balance and top up, money tied up in the card. the card still costs money.

dunno why so many ppl are using the 'elderly' to kpkb about this simplygo system instead of moving on with the times. the elderly still using the same concession cards and not affected.

By that same logic, perhaps you dont need to check the grocery or restaurant bill. Just go off, and come back for refund a few days later, if you notice any discrepancies?

My Final Year Project on technology acceptance model, was about ensuring a new tech is useful and easy to use. LTA didnt consider the 1/3 population carefully, when they took out a feature that the 1/3 found useful.

With this new technology, drivers effectively need to have 2 cards, vs 1 previously. How is that an advancement?

Yeah. Alot of complain which I don't understand. Simply go is so much more convenience. Debit/credit card all allow usage of simplygo.

Previously before simplygo I had used ex-reload which automatically topup the ezlink when balance all below a certain level but there no rebate for it.
