Forumer peppermint9163 posted in this thread on 09-05-2014 on his/her efforts to speak to their managers.
Or you can go to the Singapore Post Centre at Eunos Road 8.
Sorry but this is all that I can suggest because I try to avoid using them as much as possible.
Good luck!

anybody knows how to contact singpost manager? damn postman never ring doorbell and keep leaving attempted delivery note :frus: no point keep giving them feedback/complaint letter or calling their stupid customer service officers

I share the sentiment with the users here.

I live in postal code 059608. Order some items from the US early this year. Unknown to me, the the local partner for USPS was SingPost. As I had been tracking the order and knew the goods had cleared the customs, I make it a point to stay at home that day. I received not a phonecall or doorbell or missed delivery note. Thought my delivery was delayed. I quietly waited for a few more days but there is still no news. I tried in vain looking for USPS local office. Finally, I emailed the merchant and was given a transcript that my parcel was sent back to the US on THAT very day of alleged failed delivery. I was fuming. I used to live in another area where I would be given a note and asked to collect at the local post office. Here in this postal code, I was not even given an option. After many emails, I got my refund less delivery charges from this merchant.

In May this year, I shopped at another merchant. This time, again unknown to me about the courier, it was SingPost again. Guess what...the same story repeats itself. I had yet received any refund.

There has to be some law against such rouge service and to demand a certain standard.

VShop4U service by SingPost

Recently I needed 4 items from Overstock and tried using VShop4U service by SingPost. 2 shower heads, 1 Samsung Tab2 casing, 1 IPad casing. One may have thought the shipping weight for all the above mentioned items would not exceed 3kg in total.

Guess what...
I turned out the clerk compiling the order attempts to invoice me 1.5kg for the first shower head, 2 kg for the Samsung casing, 3kg for the Ipad casing and a whopping 5kg for the second showerhead.

My total shipping bill was almost SGD158. I message them back in protest about the outlandish weight and it's shipping charges

They have a near monopoly or at least a dominant market share.

It we/their business partners don't deal with them, who else?

If they don't get the awards for "good" service, who else?

It would appear that vpost is desperate and they could be getting singpost to disrupt their competitors' deliveries in order to pull buyers to boost their sales. They offer good discounts on their goods to attract buyers and possibly try to maintain profit margins by over-charging on the shipping volumes/weights. The only to salvage overpayments of delivery charges would be to get a qualified quantity surveyor to verify the shipping volumes/weights. After that you can try to claim for any discrepancies but knowing them, they will try to delay any claim payments until you finally give up.
So it looks like the best way would be to avoid using them altogether.

Frustrated with Vpost's exorbitant fees. They charged me SGD 45 to ship a small camera (0.9kg) from Japan. Will use other forwarders in the future.

I thought i can put this whole Singpost hassle behind once and for all by not using Vpost. I was so wrong!!! Buying things from Taobao through a forwarding agent like 4PX gets routed to Singpost as well. Its happening all over again (read the 1st post of this thread). :(

Hi All,

It seems that everyone is having so much issues Singpost.

I guess I should add on to my experience.

Basically, I never use any parcel service from Singpost, Vpost or even Speedpost before. Not that I dun do any online purchase, but I done lots, but with local agent.

This time round, I dun have a choice, but to use them.

On Tuesday afternoon, I log into Mi Singapore to make purchase for mi Products, and was expecting a delivery from 7-10 days after processing.

To my surprise, it was processed and shipped much earlier than expected!

The whole shipping process took just 3 days and I am expecting to get my purchase on the same Friday.

Sadly, as my brother had to make his way out for a while, our house was left empty.

I this case, I will assume a non-delivery note to be left in the mailbox or doorstep.

But to my horror, the system shows, "Delivered"!!!

To who they delivered???

According to them, there was no name or even NRIC number, just a 'a' signature!!

I'm like..........................

Now I read the claim policy, that lost items will only get a max claim of $160. Which my purchase is more than this amount!!

Am I suppose to pay for a mistake not of my making???

Totally disappointed!!!

A few more dollars with reputable couriers always counts!!

Following up from my previous post.
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/88386733-post88.html

Singpost sent their guy down to our place.

The guy showed the delivery note which 'even worse' there was no signature at all!!

Just a word written 'sent'.

Their reason: "Due to the high volume of delivery, they will sometime missed out in getting the signature, in such instance, they will only indicate a 'sent' and the case is closed."

This move makes me even more worried about future shipments. This means goods can be send to anyone as long as there is someone to 'collect', it will be considered as 'job done'.

Shouldn't the practice for handling huge amount of shipment be even more stringent?

Now no one can confirm the status and even location of the item. The supervisor that contacted my bro had told him that "There might be a process error and the items are still within Singpost." Which they will contact him after their investigation.

No words had been heard since.........

If you have jotted down the the name Singpost guy and details of that meeting, you now have the option of bringing your case to the Ministry that is supposed to control Singpost. What that guy said is that now Singpost has been licensed to steal all and any package that passes through them! As long as the postmen are literate enough to be able to write "sent" on the delivery note, the case is closed and no one in Singpost will be liable. What a joke!:s13:
There is no point to talk to the Singpost "management" but I hope you'll take your case to the proper ministry.:s12:

Dear All,

Just to check, if you ever received a PM from Singpost CS in HWZ?

I received PM from Singpost CS, however, I am concern of whether is this genuine. As they requested my particulars for their customer service to contact me.

I requested for a general email to send back instead, but was turned down..... :(

It appears quite odd for them to pm you here. I guess they are trying to cover up the blunder the Singpost officer made during the meeting in your home:
{Their reason: "Due to the high volume of delivery, they will sometime missed out in getting the signature, in such instance, they will only indicate a 'sent' and the case is closed."}
Please post further developments here as I'm sure our fellow forumers are curious too.
Thank you in advance.

Dear All,

I'm not sure if anyone of you saw this article, but is interesting to know who we can complaint to.

https://www.ida.gov.sg/About-Us/Newsroom/Media-Releases/2014/IDA-Takes-Enforcement-Action-against-SingPost-for-Breach-of-Public-Postal-Licence

Below is a copy of the article:

IDA Takes Enforcement Action against SingPost for Breach of Public Postal Licence
Date: 02 Apr 2014

Singapore, 2 April 2014 | For Immediate Release

SingPost found in breach of its Public Postal Licence, which requires it to ensure that the risk of loss, theft and damage to letters is minimised.

The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) has imposed a financial penalty of $30,000 on SingPost Ltd for a breach of its Public Postal Licence condition. IDA had investigated into the incident of missing mail on 5 September 2013 at Woodlands Circle and found SingPost in breach of its licence which requires it to establish, maintain and comply with measures and procedures to ensure that the risk of loss, theft and damage to letters is minimised.

At the time of the incident, SingPost had not issued any lock or chain for trolleys used by its postmen which increased the risk of mail being stolen, as mailbags and trolleys used to deliver mail could not be properly secured. In addition, investigations also revealed that nylon bags used for the transport of mail by SingPost’s postmen were only slightly water-resistant which risked mail getting wet in the event of heavy rain.

In arriving at the proposed penalty of $30,000, IDA took into account the circumstances leading to the incident of missing mail and SingPost’s measures and procedures to prevent such occurrences. IDA had also considered SingPost’s service recovery efforts to trace the missing mail and its subsequent improvements to enhance mail security to prevent similar incidents in the future. Improvements made include the issuance of new water resistant, lockable trolley bags and standard bicycles with lockable boxes for mail delivery. SingPost has also enhanced its Standard Operating Procedures and rules for postmen to emphasise the importance of mail security.

Mr Leong Keng Thai, IDA’s Deputy Chief Executive and Director-General (Telecoms and Post), said, “IDA takes a serious view of SingPost’s obligations as a Public Postal Licensee in its provision of basic postal service and that SingPost continues to ensure mail security and integrity moving forward.”

Previous Bad Singpost Experience

My items (Code 1460608) was sent out on the 2 Sep but recepient called to say they have not received after 8days. Nobody from Singpost called.
When we called Singpost, Hema, to verify on the 10th Sep , I was told only After a few days that it was damaged and it is in Paya Lebar Post Office.
I instructed Hema to get the person in charge of the item in Paya Lebar to call us. Nothing was heard again for another week.
As at 18th Sep, ALL that Hema says again is that the item is damaged.
No Apologies, No Explanations, No Offer To Make Good.
What kind of service are you providing when we pay a premium for a better service because we are sending a premium item.
The item is SEALED internally, in a hard plastic container that cannot be depressed.
How can it be damaged?!

It appears from this forum and others that Singpost's best practise is "can't be bothered"!

It looks like IDA’s action against Singpost has not resulted in any improvement at all! In fact, I would venture to say that Singpost’s employees are even bolder now: from stating that the words “sent” written on the delivery notes are final, overriding the necessity for the recipients’ signatures. Their attitudes are so bad that they are not even attending to senders when the goods are damaged in the course of deliveries and therefore fully in their possession.
I do not see any end in sight. Not unless the government will take more drastic action than imposing a fine. They have to investigate and identify the culprits from top to bottom. When heads roll, the others will realise that they have their duties and obligations.

I agree with everyone here.

I am not spreading anything political issue here but I realise the customer service of SINGPOST is very bad. Tried calling many time and was entertain by non-local voice. Promise this and that.

Based on my personal experience, pray that your package arrive smoothing else be prepared to be entertained by these "foreign-talents" and get a pail to vomit blood.

Just slight track abit, I have personally heard my friend tried to apply for job position numerous times and I am pretty sure he/she is qualified or over qualified. BUT there is no feedback or even a reply from SINGPOST.

We have heard earlier months ago, "foreign talents are helping foreign talents" to reserve job opportunities and priorities. I really start to believe from this experience. Partly, it is pretty sad to see this happening to our society.

This happened before the recent price increase.

On July 29th, I went to send 2 items, one of them a mobile phone cover. As I had some leftover stamps, I used them.

At the counter, I told the staff one is to be sent as normal mail and the other as registered(see posting receipt for registered article).
After the staff calculated and pasted the stamps I check with her
again and she confirmed the amount is correct for normal mail.

Take a look at the chart and see for yourself is the amount correct:
s27.postimg.org/xi4umb0ur/posage_rates.jpg

singpost.com/download/AboutSingPost/Media/NewsReleases/2014/pr20140902.pdf

There's an additional $2.24 for local registered article.

After emailing them on 29th July, they asked for a contact number, after giving them a contact number, no answer from them till today.
Everytime I call, they will say investigation still ongoing/another department is doing the investigation.

IT'S BEEN ALMOST 3 MONTHS!
Are they waiting for the ink on the receipt to fade?

I try to take video/photos before sending most of the time.

TL;DR version
-How can a mobile phone casing weigh 1kg?
-I paid a total of $3.04 and mailed the item outside of the post office(refer to pic take outside).
-If the postage was $0.80, it is correct. I'm being charged registered article prices for something sent as normal mail.
-Like I said, Which part of the postage rate chart states $3.04?
