All in all, I will say it is better to avoid SingTel hi! S$10 or S$12 plans (PostPaid plan as per classification but with Prepaid level support or actually less support than Prepaid).

hi! Senior plan may be worth it but I am not qualified...

You will need to use the Singtel Hi apps to chat regarding Singtel Hi matters.

There are two apps available:
  • hi!App – for prepaid hi services
  • HiApp – for Singtel Hi services

This is also the confusing part as the two apps got the similar name and previously similar icon. Now it is better that they charge the icon of the new SingTel hi! App.

1) Existing SingTel Prepaid Card (I have one): "Singtel Prepaid hi!App"

2) New "SingTel Hi!" app.

3) There is another MySingtel app for Singtel Mobile plans with devices, SIM Only Plans, Fibre Internet and SingTel TV. I have this app as well.

After installation, cannot really differentiate if you do not already know the two apps. I am using Android phone (Poco X7 Pro, Android 15).

So you are using the S$15 hi! 5G SIM Card? Maybe you want to reboot the phone to see if that helps.

What is the phone used?

You may also want to check other locations. Sometimes the signal is weak and you may not get 5G.

I see. This is strange. No idea now.

Anyway, one more try to see if changing the APN to see if that helps or not.

By default, for Android, the APN should be "hicard", same as previous SingTel hi! Prepaid Card. But you can try to change it to "e-ideas" and then see if that helps you to get 5G. If it helps, change it back to "hicard" to see if 5G connection sticks.

https://cdn1.singteldigital.com/con...ts-services/mobile/hi/pdf/singtel-hi-faqs.pdf

For iPhone
Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Network
Type in APN: e-ideas
If you are still unable to use your mobile data, please go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Network > tap
Reset Settings.

For Android
Go to Settings > search for “Access Point Names” > select Add New APN
Type in Name: hicard

There are some interesting info here. You can see that you can port-in from existing SingTel post-paid and pre-paid plans to the new SingTel hi! plans.
https://hi.singtel.com/faq

Steps before transferring number to hi!
arrow

Make sure that:
  • Your current number is a postpaid number registered under your NRIC/FIN. If it isn’t, reach out to your telco to transfer the ownership of the line to yourself.
  • You current line is active and you have no outstanding payments with your telco.
Edit on 23-Dec-2025: Singtel has removed the following false information.
Note that there is a shorter processing time (less than 4 hours) if you are transferring your number from our Singtel brands:
  • Singtel postpaid
  • GOMO
  • heya
  • Singtel prepaid (???)

Some points about Roaming.

https://hi.singtel.com/faq
Access to calls and SMS while overseas
arrow

You’ll be able to receive SMS overseas even without an active roaming plan — as long as the country you’re in still supports 3G. But you won’t be able to receive calls.
As Singtel hi! roaming plans are data-only, you won’t be able to send SMSes and make calls overseas as well.

Additional charges after using up roaming plan

arrow

Once you’ve used up your roaming plan, there won’t be any excess charges incurred, including Pay-Per-Use charges.
Just get another roaming add-on to continue roaming overseas.

Just carry out a test to see if it is possible to port-in my existing Singtel Prepaid card to the new S$10 per month hi! plan and it does not work.

From the website:
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/hi

Select the S$10 plan and click "Get", it will go to the following page and ask you to input your existing Postpiad number.

I use my existing Singtel Prepaid number for the testing and and it will fail the test.

rwurqaf.png

If I use my Starhub Prepaid S plan number migrated from old Starhub Happy Prepiad card, it will pass the test. Take note "Starhub Prepaid S" plan is classified as Postpaid plan since it allows up to 10 lines. (BTW, it is so confusing about Prepaid versus Postpaid, IMDA should really remove the classifications now).

I have talked to WhatsApp SingTel and they do not support the new SingTel hi! Plans.

The prepaid team supports the existing hi! Prepaid plans and the new SingTel hi! Plans.

You can only use Singtel Hi! App to chat with Singtel for support for the Singtel hi! 4G postpaid plans.

You will need to use the Singtel Hi apps to chat regarding Singtel Hi matters.

There are two Apps available:

Singtel Prepaid hi!App - for Prepaid hi! services
Singtel hi! - for Singtel hi! services

icon show hi!App and HiApp after installed.

SingTel hi! Prepaid hotline -- only for the S$15 hi! 5G+ plan which is a prepaid plan.

Tel:
1800 482 2800 (Calling from overseas: +65 6482 2800)

Operating Hours: (Including Public Holidays)
  • Monday to Sunday: 8:30am – 8:30pm

BTW, just wondering if you are using the new Singtel Hi! app or the old Singtel hi! Prepaid app to manage this S$15 card. Thanks.

Edit to add --> S$15 plan is a prepaid plan so that it is using Singtel Prepaid hi!App.

Indeed, the icoms are also pretty confusing for average users.

hi! Senior plan may be worth it but I am not qualified...

I think Singtel hi! Senior Plan is not a bad plan for seniors who want to be on Singtel network, especially for those who are not qualified for the special SG60 promotion: S$6 Merdeka and Pioneers plan.

Terms and conditions:
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/hi/hi-terms-and-conditions

Good info about Singtel hi! Senior plan at S$5 per month (4G plan).

Physical SIM card hi $5 Senior plan:

Max 4 lines
Free - Random Number
$5 - Select Number
$5 - Port in admin fee
