actually i went to Sony flagship store at Wisma prior to my purchase where they already have 90J and 95H. I ask the sales for the comparison. Apparently their views are they still prefer the quality of H series than the new one... so to each his own...
Sony X95H is a better TV compared to X90J. You should compare the X95H with X95J once it is out.

I can’t deny X95H is a superior TV with outstanding picture quality. If only it comes with HDMI2.1… but for the price I paid, I can have no complains lol

Today I went courts and best Denki. All salesmen bet with their lives 65” X9500H display set at $2300 is impossible. In the end didn’t close deal. Lol! No point if they want to sell at $2599 for display set. No new sets. X90J looks good on the screen and also full array. I think difference is the wide angle? Does X9500H has Apple TV app? Heard only Google tv have the Apple TV app. Indirectly save $200 since no need to buy Apple TV.
I am torn between (1) X7500 for $1499 (2) X90J at $2599 or (3) X9500h display at $2599 (doesn’t make sense). 😆

Agreed, if you're tempted to go for the X9500H I think it would be best to hold out (if you're not in a rush) and wait for the 2021 X95J like the previous member had mentioned. Hopefully that one is a step up.

The X90J is decent but that asking price still seems excessive for what it offers IMO, and I would wait till it drops below $2000.

It might suffer from slightly more than usual haloing and blooming in certain scenarios due to the insufficient local dimming zones (24).

There's a good side-by-side comparison with a youtuber that demonstrates this issue. He compares the X90J with the 2017 Sony X900E which has 48 local dimming zones.

If the price is lower it'll be a good buy for sure since it beats IPS and VA TVs that doesn't even have local dimming.

Anyone here using external usb storage device with their Sony android tv? I ran out of space for apps and installed a usb stick drive, it worked and i was able to move apps on to the drive but the loading was very slow. For some apps it was almost unusable. Is this what i should be expecting or do i need a faster drive? Would appreciate some answers before buying another drive to explore further.

My preference is HDR10 over Dolby Vision. The yellow cast on Dolby Vision is overpowering and also affects the subtitles. Probably works well in very dark room but not under normal room settings.
Now that you mentioned it, initially i was quite stoked to see Dolby Vision is available by default on Netflix but after a while i find it dark and yellowish like you... My friend said it is what the producer wants you to see as the original effects lol...

On Sony TV that supports DV, there is Dolby Vision Dark and Bright. Make sure to use bright when DV is on to see more details.

Could you be confusing DV mode with the Netflix mode found in Sony TV? Netflix mode will make images darker and duller.

Sony TVs from 2019 onwards will support Apple TV and AirPlay. However, native Apple TV offers a better experience.

Take note that the new X95J will only release 75" and 85" here in Singapore. If you want a Sony 65" LED TV, you'll be stuck with X90J.

For $2999 or $3499, you can get the Panasonic/ LG oled. I think quite good deal as compared to Sony x9500h. All are impressive tv. Best Denki and Harvey Norman told me business damn good for them. Tv flying off the shelf from phone calls. Want to buy, buy else later no more already. Machiam demand super huge as compared to supply Lol! Not sure got BS or not but I think should be true since chips shortage everywhere

77a80j not in stores yet.. but friend already pre-ordered it from retailer at 12k and invited kakis over for gaming when tv arrives.. cant wait to see how it fares against my current cx model
A bit of update, tv arrived for my friend already but can't gather due to new covid restriction, only get to see the picture, TV still looks too small even though it's already 77 inches.. It has a glossy finish instead of matte finish as compared to the 55/65" version which is nice.

Right now Netflix is the only source that comes with DV so i judge my experiences based on that only.

I saw LG OLED and was impressed but I cannot accept burn in as my family supports Mediacorp channels so OLED is out.

Disney Plus also have movies featuring DV.

Burn-in is less of an issue now due to mechanisms built into today’s OLED TVs to prevent it.

After having the A80J for over 2 weeks, I think one of the greatest improvements is in its the wide viewing angle. My family can watch the TV even from the dining room, 60deg off axis. The light-weight of OLED TV also facilitates the use of extensible wall-mount rack, allowing even better viewing angles.

Hi All, actually was eyeing on X95H Sony TV. However, the sale person say is an android TV which is like android phone, in 2-3 years we will start to see slow down in the app usages etc.

What the person mean is those apps that we watch show etc. will experience slow down? Anyone able to advice?

Thanks in advance

If you installed too many apps or non performing app it may get slow down. But you can reset to factory default anytime. :)
