Soteyh, what's the rationale behind stopping Candito and going away from a relatively heavy program to what I feel is fairly chillax weights? Wouldn't this cause detraining if you stop heavy lifting for too long? (say more than 2 weeks?)

I don't know! Am following a new programme, so I'll tell you in two months! I also hope I don't lose the gains...

But I'm thankful for the lower intensity to give the joints and supporting muscles a break to catch up. Don't want to get injured, so doing high volume with loads of stretching and rolling

I feel that as long as you monitor for joint aches and lower the intensity somewhat then it would be alright.

Your new program is a drastic reduction from Candito. I would be surprised if there's no detraining tbh :(

I need to stretch and roll quite a lot, the support also needs to catch up with the strength gains!

Ah, that figures. I'm turning 37 this year, and my joints aren't getting any younger as well. Not as much heavy low rep work as my younger days.

Yup, after three months on intensive low rep work, time to give the joints a break. My main concern is to prevent injury, since it will take longer to recover. Step back one step before moving forward two steps...

So just to see if this near-40 ah pek has still got it, I did dealifts today. Out of program, but the program is light on dl so OK.

Ramped up to doubles for 150 and 160, with a 3x5 finisher at 140.

Some light power cleans
