I just paid for the 20gb $10.19 plan

So the payment for next cycle is auto using same payment recorded in app or i must do same simba to top up?

Then the billing cycle is base on the date i sign up or sim activation date?

Using the same payment recorded in app, ie the credit card details that u used to sign up.

Billing cycle starts on sim activation date.

So we are signing up for a plan that provides 5G
but most of the times and places, it has no coverage?

is Simba 5G coverage better?

i am still deciding to stay or move over to simba.

For me, North and East side outdoors no problem

Even in MRT, NSL and CircleLine have better signal compared to VIVIFI

Probably in GIGA case, we are paying for 5G, but likely their backend got some issues and cant provision 5G for some of us

Why not just stay till your month is over then decide?
For Simba coverage, maybe you wana check over at the simba thread?

From their fb page, it seems like iPhones are not on their list of compatible phones on their 5G network, and majority of users who aren't able to connect to the 5G network are iPhone users.

I have exactly the same issue. I'm using iPhone 15 PM and no issue with 5G SA on MyRepublic and Circles.Life. However on Giga I totally have no 5G (always on 4G) and my eSIM profile doesn't even have the "5G standalone" on-off option.

Just received the 5G Sim. Switched to it and today was my reset day so the app showed that I'm on 5G plan now.

I confirm Punggol doesn't have 5G yet. At least the part I am in. My S23Ultra is definitely 5G SA Compatible so it's network availability issue.

I have subsribed to the Giga 5G plan earlier this week with eSIM..

I am using Pixel 8 Pro and unable to connect to 5G the entire time. Previously I was on MyRepublic 5G and able to be on 5G most of the time.

Installed cellmapper to check and found that Giga has "DCNR Restricted" is "true". This means they did not enable the 5G access to my line at all. Highly suspect they have their provisioning done wrong.

Seems like very messy implementation hor?

Strangely the iphone is not supported for 5G. Should have made it more prominent that iphone not supported since iphone got significant number of users.

Then fb got ppl complain swap to esim and physical sim deactivated already but esim cannot activate.

Duno is it they cannot handle the sudden surge of sign up and changing of esim / physical 5g sim

Same here with my 15 PM. I ported out of Giga to MR 5G because of this.

I have extensive experience using eSIMs on my iPhone. Here's my experience and guide for porting into giga on eSIM.

1) Sign up to port-in using giga app.

2) The app will say that you are issued a temporary number and you will receive an email with the eSIM QR code, with instructions to install the eSIM immediately. DO NOT do that.

(explanatory note: Usually once you've issued a physical or eSIM with temp number, you can start using it immediately. However, that's not the case with giga. If you install the eSIM immediately, the iPhone installation process will be fine, but the app will tell you that it wasn't installed correctly and ask you to try again, leading to an endless cycle.)

3) Wait for the next email from giga (a day later) telling you the porting-in process has started and will take 1 to 3 days.

4) The porting-in process usually happens close to midnight, you may receive a message from your existing Telco informing you that your line has been cancelled. Your old SIM will stop working and you have no more signal on your phone. But don't be tempted to install the new eSIM yet.

5) Wait for the final email from giga, which says the port-in process was successful.

6) Go ahead to follow the instructions to install the giga eSIM.

7) Giga's eSIM doesn't seem to have a number attached to it. You'll have to key it in yourself and also give a custom name for your eSIM so you can identify it.

(At this stage, the eSIM installation is complete (the phone will tell you it's been activated) and usually you can start using it immediately. But for giga, there's the added step of going into the app itself to press the "activate" button before your mobile line will work.)

8) Extra steps for iMessage / Facetime. Remove your old line and turn off iMessage/Facetime. Restart your phone. Turn on iMessage / Facetime and choose your new line. The activation will not be immediate. You will notice the SMS quota being used in your giga app. That's part of the verification process by Apple. Wait at least a day.

9) Starhub and M1 share the 5G network and based on my experience, it's not as extensive as Singtel's. You will most likely not immediately see the 5G icon on your phone. Toggle the appropriate "5G auto or 5G on" options on your phone and let it switch to 5G when detected.
Weird. I have no problems activating eSIM immediately on the email which sends us the QR code.

Using iPhone as well for both my main and secondary devices.

Seem like the new 5G SA plan for Giga is facing numbers of issues as seen on their IG and FB comment. I think need to give them some time to resolve before more people sign up.
  • Subscribed to 5G but only get 4G,
  • Issue with eSIM activation,
  • iPhone XS onwards does have eSIM support yet not inside list of devices for giga eSIM.
