Anyway, just to note. It doesn’t mean u change to eSIM, u will get 5G straightaway. The new 5G only kicks in after your next cycle. But also curious why iPhone is not listed as one of the compatible 5G devices. Hmmm

does this apply to newly port-in for eSIM? I asked a few agents, they couldn't answer, only say help me escalate my case.

I see they have listed the supported iPhone model in the faq for eSIM but not 5g

I believe it's just the network coverage.
Starhub is not super well covered under 5G in singapore yet, some areas you get it where the others don't.

if 5G is a must then probably use any of the Singtel MVNO.

Reading all the comments here and their Facebook, seems like most of the issues are relating to 5G, and a few are regarding switching to eSIM.
I'm thinking of whether to switch to eSIM, to take advantage of the free switch before 30 Jun.
But I'm worried will I encounter issue if I switch, as I read some people encounter activation issues.
Anyone successfully switch to eSIM, or encounter issues along the way?
For me, I'm using the $15 plan, so it doesn't have 5G, and I don't need 5G anyway.
I'm more towards switching to eSIM, for the convenience, e.g. if I lost my phone, I don't need to request for physical SIM, which can take quite long to arrive.

I beg to differ. In fact, I am on StarHub 5G with MyRepublic.

On the contrary, me and friends experience with 5G on Singtel has been nothing but terrible. You can also check OpenSignal on their report for 2023.

Singtel 5G gives me ping of about 30-40ms whereas StarHub 5G able to give me 15ms consistently. Sometimes even lower.

wah. didn't know singtel 5G ping was so bad. For my M1 5G, i was able to get ping of 13ms at 1.3gbps. What's your speed on Starhub 5G? i know both SH and M1 are sharing the same 5G

Nice, lucky you.

Ported in on 22 May, till now still 4G.

I would suggest holding off for maybe 1-2 weeks first or till like the last week for the conversion to eSim to let them iron out those issues.

Reading the comments, some users are now getting their 5G services up but there are still complains about the esim problems

Sounds like a lemon.
Better quickly contact GIGA via Facebook chat for "faster" response.

It seems that current iPhone or iOS users are unable to connect to Giga! 5G networks until Apple sends the carrier update (currently Giga 58.0) to enable the 5G Standalone options in device settings. However, Giga! customer support does not clarify that iOS devices are not yet supported on Giga! 5G. Instead, they state that the network team is working to support more devices…. Should make it clear to all iOS users

Wow. 1.3Gbps. That’s a lot and almost mmWave territory.

My highest 5G speed is around 850Mbps. Capped by iPhone modem. I’m sure you’re on an Android.

Anyone is Choa Chu Kang area using giga?
Able to connect to their 5G?
Hmmm. This could be MVNO issue. But I do have 5G at CCK on StarHub network. I guess Giga has to sort their problems out first.

I stay near CCK and frequent there and saw my 5G signal on multiple occasions.
