Thank you. Means no real call but can use data to call via WhatsApp whatever. I am still thinking if I should port over to giga to use buddy... Looks like its the cheapest for the moment for a dormant number.yes you can port in, but the number only have incoming SMS and 2GB data. Can not make or receive any calls.
You do need a main giga number to have gigabuddy plan. Cannot just have gigabuddy.
"Lapse past 30 days" means the first 30 days don't use it at all? From 31 to 90 days use it a while to prevent dormant?M1 maxx is cheaper at $0 per month. The $0 base plan (for now) come with 0.2GB data, 10mins, 50SMS. You need to buy initially any plan (cheapest $12) from most phone repair shop outside and let it lapse pass 30 days. You can port in yourself from the app. You also need to maintain usage for that line (SMS, data, outgoing call) once every 90 days or the base plan will become $5. Been using it personally for 1 year, free of charge.
One use case is in dual sim phone. For data can use on the main line. Occasionally can also receive normal incoming call free of charge. Since whatsapp call can use any active connection, the 0.2GB data does not matter. Once in a while my M1 maxx need to send 1 sms to my main line to "maintain usage"
gigabuddy may still attractive for giga users especially if very light user or second phone, but if in same dual sim phone can try M1 maxx.
I see. Thank you for explaining to me.The $12 is for a data add on for 30 days, it is required to purchase a sim card. if i remember correctly it is 80 or 100GB with IDD and 2GB roaming to some countries. You can and should use the line first 30 days. (sorry if i said it a bit confusing, i meant you do not need to continue to purchase any extra add ons)
The base plan is seperate from the add on. If you have usage within 90 days, the base plan will reset every month and will continue indefinitely, unless M1 Maxx decides to remove this free plan.
Please ensure that your current phone is compatible with eSim via GIGA websiteHow do I request to exchange the current SIM card to esim?
Hi, just read that my current plan is eligible for auto upgrade to 5G?
How do I request to exchange the current SIM card to esim?
iPhone not supported at this momentI just activated 5g on giga app for iPhone 13. Still seeing … no reception. Is iPhone not supported or I need to wait a while to be activated?
also don't know why need new SIM to use 5G SA. Other countries don't need new SIM for 5G SA (like china, US)Anyone switched to the 5g sim already can share what is your data network type?
You can check by dialing *#*#4636#*#*
Mine is showing NR_SA even without switching the sim card so it seems to be already on 5G SA.
Getting 390mbps download, 24mbps upload and 25ms latency at home.
Wanted to know if there's any reason to change sim card.
by right dont need new sim la.... else how esim function?also don't know why need new SIM to use 5G SA. Other countries don't need new SIM for 5G SA (like china, US)

It's not in their list of compatible device, so no 5G isn't a huge surprise. Even the iPhone is also currently not compatible with their 5G esim.Google pixel 8 pro doesnt have 5G network on Giga 5G plan? Does anyone encounter this? Its very frustrating to have signed up but it doesnt support on some 5G enabled phone models.
True. But at least Samsung brand is on the listGiga's list is not exhaustive. Wife's Samsung Galaxy A73 5G is not listed but she can get 5G SA activated and now on5G network upon renewal data/time.
I also tried using samsung z fold 5 and it does not have 5G as well. Could it be its not activated at their end? Their support really sucks!!!!It's not in their list of compatible device, so no 5G isn't a huge surprise. Even the iPhone is also currently not compatible with their 5G esim.
