I don't get it. The 5G upgrade is FOC right? If it doesn't work on our phone, just switchback to 4G, not that we are charged extra. So what is this sudden frustration anger? I have received the physical 5G simcard for my Poco X6 pro which my renewal is next week then I know it works or not. Don't have too bad then, I just continue using 4G.

Most people thinking is that cos it's advertised as 5G, why I can't get 5G? That's false advertising . And first world problem.

You don't see complaints on simba, simba advertised all plans comes with 5G. Yet you don't see people complaint no 5G. Moreover these complaints comes only from iPhone users which clearly stated not supported now. Hais

thats because during late of May the Giga do not clearly tell the iOS is not supported, and I’m not aware at all the 5G have to depends on phone model, unless we spend our time to read the FULL FAQ to find out it.

note: Im the one who port in to giga from another telco after saw their new plan coming up during May.

by June, the giga just started to put a clause up front and also a warning on their app, to tell subsequent users that their 5G is not on iOS devices.

so, I can’t complain much as I’m the one not read all the singles words on their website. Then the only choice is I can port out to other telco as my choice.

And I’m waiting them to sort out the ID issue which stop me from porting out.

5G services isn't available on iPhone they should indicate it UPFRONT in their home page (https://giga.com.sg/) but they didn't. Customer has to go into their FAQ to search or read up one by one. I think this is a kind of false advertising.

tbh I agree with slopyy marketing, but even with "false advertising", what can consumers do?
Not like we have any authority that actively punishes these acts. :s22:

Contrary to many accounts here, my transition from Giga 4G Physical SIM to their 5G eSIM was rather buttery smooth.

Applied to change plan from my old $15 4G plan to their $18 5G plan in May.
My plan upgraded on 01 June (my plan always renews on first day of the month).

Once my upgraded plan kicks in and shown on giga app, I signed up for their free eSIM and gotten the QR code image right away.

Applied the QR code image in phone settings and turned on eSIM.

My old 4G giga physical SIM card still installed in phone. So I turned off my phone to remove the old physical SIM card and reboot.

After turning on, just went into settings to ensure Standalone 5G is turned on. I am on Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra so no issue on that. Viola!

Perhaps these above steps can guide some users here having trouble transiting to their 5G. But it is nothing out of the norm actually.

I gonna port out as soon as all the telcos and MVNOs have implemented VoLTE.
Looking to sign from currently non VoLTE MVNOs Zero1 or Zym.

Does anybody manage to get Giga 5G on Google Pixel 8?

I have read about Starhub 5G working on Google Pixel 8 but Giga support says Pixel 8 not in the list and I have not seen 5G ever since I got my Giga 5G sim card

Not a pixel user here. But was affected by this 5g problem on a "supported" phone.

I would suggest first contacting giga through Facebook and ask if they can help you to check if 5G was provisioned for your number.

I ding dong with Giga support more than 2 weeks just to use my 5G sim card

Then they just send me the supported 5G phone list

good to hear it's working on Poco phones even though most are not in the official giga list as supported devices. Did you have to contact giga via Facebook Messenger to provide number for them to enable 5G provisioning?

When the monthly renewal kicks in, I don't see 5G and was disappointed. Reboot phone and it appears. Lucky me...

Looks like the 5G and esim rush has left giga a little wounded.

At least they resolved the issue now :ROFLMAO:

What's left is the official "support" for other Android phones as well as iPhone
