Has anyone able to receive SMS for your giga plan number when you are overseas, but data roaming not activated? Because I need to receive otp SMS for work though overseas, but I intend to buy the local sim card instead of giga overseas roaming data plan.
I don’t think you need data to receive sms did you connect to a networkHas anyone able to receive SMS for your giga plan number when you are overseas, but data roaming not activated? There is alr advisory that giga 5G doesn't support iOS for now till apple approve the profile.Hello guys, is there minimum period to terminate the plan? I just sign up up with giga butnthere is no 5g on iphone. Thanks to advise.
should be just the remaining days to the period of 1 month.Hello guys, is there minimum period to terminate the plan? I just sign up up with giga butnthere is no 5g on iphone. Thanks to advise.
Interesting read that giga 5g only offers SA network while gomo only offers NSA network.

I went to giga terms and conditions and yes, it stated to offer 5G SA network, with no mention on NSA network.
That explains why many area no 5G on giga. Need to wait for starhub to build more SA network infrastructure
as of May 2024, there is less than 100k 3G subscribers left in SGYup better to hop onto 5G SA earliest possible. Cos once 3G switches off, all those diehard 3G users will suddenly be force pushed to seek refuge onto 4G network, spiking network demand. So get onto the higher grounds before tide gets higher.
5G NSA can bo?Yup better to hop onto 5G SA earliest possible. Cos once 3G switches off, all those diehard 3G users will suddenly be force pushed to seek refuge onto 4G network, spiking network demand. So get onto the higher grounds before tide gets higher.
Either completely no network or they will auto upgrade to 4Gas of May 2024, there is less than 100k 3G subscribers left in SG
most of them are inactive & low volume, anyway
bigger problem is in many hard too reach places (eg some shop houses, underground car parks, nature reserves walk trails), 3G connection is all that is available currently
wonder how they are going to replace that .....
Yes. Remember most retail shops POS machines are still mostly using 3G network. Those NETS and paywave machines mostly I saw so far still not migrated, still at 3G.Yup better to hop onto 5G SA earliest possible. Most of them are transitioning to 4G or LAN. And yes, once more moved away from 3G, 4G definitely will slow down, but should perform better than 3G.Yes. Remember most retail shops POS machines are still mostly using 3G network. Those NETS and paywave machines mostly I saw so far still not migrated, still at 3G.
If all of these POS machines migrate to 4G, you will see how congested 4G is. Just like how 2G network closure force alot refuge to 3G
I guess those 3G facilities will be going for upgrades to the existing 4G, instead of 5G.as of May 2024, there is less than 100k 3G subscribers left in SG

Totally agree with expected network congestion but no hurry lah... it's not as if 5G SA plans only limited to first 100,000 usersYup better to hop onto 5G SA earliest possible. Would 5G NSA be a better option?Totally agree with expected network congestion but no hurry lah... it's not as if 5G SA plans only limited to first 100,000 usersBesides 5G SA coverage is still not as good as 4G yet.
5G NSA leverages on existing 4G network, is like "4G turbo". Unless there's a need faster peak speed, I don't see myself upgrading to 5G NSA for that reason alone. Most are migrating to 5G SA to avoid network congestion.Would 5G NSA be a better option?
Just curious where do you get the consensus on the num of current active 3G only users?as of May 2024, there is less than 100k 3G subscribers left in SG

Problem is a lot more current 4G users will have higher propensity to stick through 4G than upgrading to 5G as compared to 3G to 4G last time cos 3G was still not fast enough to do some bandwidth demanding stuff while 4G is still largely unsaturated and most people don't need 5G at all (including myself).Totally agree with expected network congestion but no hurry lah... it's not as if 5G SA plans only limited to first 100,000 usersBesides 5G SA coverage is still not as good as 4G yet.
