Anyone knows how much Giga charges for replacement of eSIM due to change of phone? Tried asking on live chat but always no response.

How many times can I reinstall my eSIM?
There's no limit to the number of times you can reinstall your giga eSIM! Simply head on to our giga app > Mega Menu > SIM Services > Reinstall eSIM, to request for a new eSIM which you can then install on your preferred mobile phone or device! There may be a fee incurred with each SIM swap.

Note that only 1 eSIM can be activated for your giga line at any one time. Once you activate the new eSIM, the existing eSIM associated with that line will be deactivated and will no longer have service.

My understanding of Sim swap is for when you change physical to esim or vice versa but doubt that it applies here.
Unless they meant phone swap?

Have you tried to install the Giga esim on your new phone yet?

And is your esim still active on your old phone?

If you are not feeling that it is safe to do the scan or reinstallation, maybe also drop a FB message to them. They got in touch with me fast on FB when I had problems last year.

Edit.. Public holidays soon. I think better to just use your old phone first and get clarification from Giga first

Hi all, i just subscribed to Giga, was a Singtel postpaid customer before

I went through the process of porting my current number and activated the eSim for Giga already

When should I cancel on the Singtel side? Once I have confirmation that the number has been ported over?

Thanks

No need to cancel. Singtel will hand over your number to giga. Let the porting take place naturally, no action on your end

Anyone has experience with getting replacement sim (due to faulty sim)? Supposed to contact me within 3 working days, but double that has passed without hearing from giga. :(

I think I requested for one 22 or 23 Jan and then they contacted back within 3 working days, and I got my sim card on 28 Jan.

Use Giga Malaysia roaming keep required to go into network and search its partner network every time after crossing the border as it auto connect to Digi which don’t work. Quite annoying keep to need remember manual search uMobile or Maxis.

While my other line under GOMO auto connect to any of the Malaysia network and it just work.

You can't just port out, you must port in to another telco.

Was there any issue during the port in to the new telco?
If so, did they say what was the issue?

If you have FB, their FB chat was the fastest for me.

yes by port out referring to port in to another telco. The new telco say id mismatch. There is no change in ID. Tried many times to reach out to giga, no reply. Facebook, whatsapp, website, email... all no reply. Any advice? Read online someone suggest complain to imda, i doubt imda will do anything

am confused. Do you mean that the new telco said, that the old telco refused to release line because of ID mismatch?

did they say why mismatch? eg you signed up to old telco using say, passport, and now you are presenting NRIC to port out, or originally signed up with spouse's NRIC and now porting out using your NRIC. If old telco refuse to specify why mismatch, then by all means escalate to IMDA. just make sure you have the correspondence in writing.

Why would IMDA not bother, they are the governing body for telecommunications.
Loop them in through email and make them work since they do not want to have better regulations/consumer protection for users in SG.
Trust me, once you loop them in and with sufficient supporting information, they will assist you.

Anyways, as what @loganrunning shared, likely the incumbent telco's ID differs from the new ID information that you submitted to the new telco.
This is usually the case if your plans are legacy (signed up long time ago/assisted family to sign up etc.).
