how is Giga receptions? Compare to SingTel ? most area well covering with good signals? I know M1 is very slow data even got 3bars on iPhone 8Plus..My wife is using M1 with contract and some area cannot send emails although data is connected...I am using SingTel and coverage is OK so far but contract plans are expensive and I don't need that much..14GB per month is enough for me just for using office access ...Seems Giga is value for money...May I get user's experiences and experts comments before I switch tomorrow,,Thanks

If you are worried, you can get Giga and try it out for a few days. Giga allows you to port in later using the app easily. After trying, if you are happy, request for port-in. If not happy, can terminate since no contract.

I'm happy with my Giga. Previously on M1. I used it for 6 weeks before porting-in (due to my own reasons and not because of Giga performance) .

I been using Giga for a few month and so far okie. BTW they are on starhub network. I think Giga is risk free because no contract. Anytime can port out again.

Honestly different telco has different blind spot in sg.

Agreed, each telco has it's own blind spots. Now all MVNO all contract-free, so no much risk. I ported one of my line out from giga 30 days after using it to MyRepublic.

Been using about a month now.... I can say compared to Singtel reception wise, Singtel is still better. At Singtel I can get a very constant 4G signal throughout, however I realised for Giga, there are times I can only get 3G. Not that much of a inconvenience but you can definitely realised the drop.

same feeling for giga, when I tried giga, it often drops to 3G from 4G. When calling, sometimes the line will break. Singtel will still be better for consistency. eventually ported out of giga after 30 days of usage.

giga support Apple iMessage and Personal Hotspot?

Hi all,

Does giga support Apple iMessage and Personal Hotspot, both locally and overseas?

Thanks!

Depends on your area of usage. For me, it's good enough, it does drop from 4G+ to 4G from time to time. Every telco have their own blindspots.

Since you are pleased with the coverage ST provides, why not try their NO-SIM plans ?

recently ported over to giga and the signal bar is mostly at 1 bar (sometimes 2) at home. Was previously with singtel postpaid plan - rarely below 5 bars, also have a starhub prepaid - rarely below 5 bars when used with singtel postpaid. now at 4 bars with giga (actually doesn't really matter).

refreshed instagram for a minute and its still refreshing:s22: tried to run speed test but chrome won't even load... it's the 2nd/3rd day of porting over so is it normal to experience this? i've been with singtel for like more than 10 years out of convenience so its actually my first time switching lol.

Then should perhaps port back to Singtel or GOMO :o

Same problem for me too, ported from Circles (M1 before that), reception is quite bad at certain spots at home, sometimes even dropping to H+. Sent giga message to look into it since start of April, chased them twice liao, still telling me support team looking at it and will reply me soon... No replies yet...

You mean if you are on Giga and want to continue using?

Open up the Giga app. Below the XX SMS left, you should see "renews on date and time". Eg if it says renews on 1 June 2020.01:43, it will be charged to your credit card on 1 or 2 June. Same or next day after charged, will receive email from Giga giving the receipt. You don't have to do anything to continue using.

It's time to switch out again, ported to giga, and used for 30days and ported out to MyRepublic. Didn't even last a month with giga. You can give MyRepublic a try, $10/per month only

Yes they both work, overseas too if you buy their data packs.

You mean I cannot use iMessage and receive OTP sent from oversea if I don't buy their data pack? I am currently under singtel and able to receive, thinking of switching to Giga after contract end to save money. but I need to use that OTP and iMessage for oversea colleagues communications...

OTP can but iMessage works like Whatsapp, no data no service. You don't receive OTP via iMessage, you get it via SMS so that works without a data pack.

You also have Starhub prepaid ?How is the signal of that compared to Giga now ? Are you getting 4G or 4G+ on your phone ? I assume you entered the correct APN ?

I remembered the 1st night I ported over to Giga, there was no internet. Talked to their support, went to sleep and it was okay by the next morning.

For your reference, I live in near Woodlands MRT station, can get full bars. 4G when inside house and 4G+ when i step outside. Your mileage may vary though.

every month will auto deduct from the credit card and you will receive html invoice from giga once this is done.

To know when your plan renew/bill check the giga app on the renewal date.

You can also verify on the transaction page
