Ok, at the point of launching the torrent client, i had about 3 internet browser windows open at the same time(surfing web).
After a while, usually when torrent get into full speed with the peers, any new internet browser window that I launch will not be able to connect to the web at all. Google, Yahoo etc. It will simply attempt to load to any website and timeout a while later.
For the windows that was already open, it can still load new pages(like "New Post" on hwz), but after a while it might get affected too.
Ping does not indicate lost packets. MSN Messenger was still connected.
Green tick was there, however the other time red tick(error) appeared briefly before returning into green tick
After that instance, i was unable to reproduce the problem again. I downloaded several gigabyte of test files but the problem still does not occur. So do u think it is the router being buggy or overloading?
I only reply to private support questions on phone calls listed on my sig, unless personal info like password is provided in PM.
Since they're common question, I will provide the quote here.
Torrent clients showing Red/Exclamation typically means a timeout lapse has occured and no incoming packets has happened yet.
Afterwhich, if the green tick appears, it still means the port is forwarded correctly.
On some torrent, it takes times for peer to query the tracker for newer connection target, hence the time can be longer.
Of course, showing a tick does not mean some crappy written router wont stop forwarding packet halfway like intermittently, but thats for another time.
And the common problem where other traffic stops while P2P is running, this can be because of router NAT overloaded, rogue app being aggressive interfering with new connections like browsing, OS half-open (4226) limit and stack issue, Internet Security software limit. There are no easy way to determine this, except you can try surfing on another computer to differentiate problems between the PC or router.
