Thanks Winston.

On a separate note, does anyone have issue connecting Samsung Galaxy S II to the RG's wifi network when WPA2-only Personal security is set with AES encryption(cant select TKIP)? Wireless was set to N-only too.

It was unable to connect to the network but an iPhone 4 had no issue.

When i changed wireless band to G/N and changed the security to WPA/WPA2 mixed personal and both TKIP/AES encryption, the Samsung phone was finally able to connect.

yes i have the same issue.

so far my resolution is to static a google dns (8.8.8.8) on primary DNS and it somehow works. no idea why. hoping that someone else would have a better solution for it.

I'm not sure as my family uses iPhones only.

Maybe can email this to Dlink to check if there's anything that can be done or hopefully resolve during the next FW update..;)

i think most people has no issues hitting 57Mbps at least with Dlink Router.

I am able to hit > 57mbps at early hours, 6am.
During peak hour, 8pm to 12am, it is only 40-50mbps.
Now, I think Huawei throughput is performing better that Dlink, but the range is not as good as Dlink.

I am a user on Huawei before and now on Dlink.

what router?

either router overload or torrent client settings too aggressive. Best approach is to lower down the max number of peers to determine

What software is this?
If there are no Daemon apps to open up the relevant port and reply to incoming packets. Of course it will state Timeout lah.

It like the postman came but nobody opened the door.

I used WhatsMyIP.org | Port Scanners/Sniffers

About the internet connectivity issue i cant reproduce it all the time(seems intermittent), but confirm it does happen during torrent.

global max amt of connection:900
max no of connected peers per torrent:125
No of upload slot per torrent :50

Using Dlink DVG N5402SP router. I disabled the DDOS prevention feature. DMZ active(for 2nd AP).
Some solution that seem to fix the issue is to ipconfig /release and /renew and/or restart PC.

Ok... describe more about the internet connectivity issue?

P2P app showing green tick, then the tick disappeared or what?

Anyway, the layout of the port checker may be good, but obviously it is useless. Because the author don't tell you to run the server app first.

I always tell ppl never to use whatismyip.org as popular a site as it seems. It never detects transparent proxies correctly. For all you know, the postman may be knocking on the wrong door.

Ok, at the point of launching the torrent client, i had about 3 internet browser windows open at the same time(surfing web).

After a while, usually when torrent get into full speed with the peers, any new internet browser window that I launch will not be able to connect to the web at all. Google, Yahoo etc. It will simply attempt to load to any website and timeout a while later.

For the windows that was already open, it can still load new pages(like "New Post" on hwz), but after a while it might get affected too.

Ping does not indicate lost packets. MSN Messenger was still connected.

Green tick was there, however the other time red tick(error) appeared briefly before returning into green tick

After that instance, i was unable to reproduce the problem again. I downloaded several gigabyte of test files but the problem still does not occur. So do u think it is the router being buggy or overloading?

I only reply to private support questions on phone calls listed on my sig, unless personal info like password is provided in PM.

Since they're common question, I will provide the quote here.

Torrent clients showing Red/Exclamation typically means a timeout lapse has occured and no incoming packets has happened yet.
Afterwhich, if the green tick appears, it still means the port is forwarded correctly.

On some torrent, it takes times for peer to query the tracker for newer connection target, hence the time can be longer.

Of course, showing a tick does not mean some crappy written router wont stop forwarding packet halfway like intermittently, but thats for another time.

And the common problem where other traffic stops while P2P is running, this can be because of router NAT overloaded, rogue app being aggressive interfering with new connections like browsing, OS half-open (4226) limit and stack issue, Internet Security software limit. There are no easy way to determine this, except you can try surfing on another computer to differentiate problems between the PC or router.

It is true alot of port checker sites are badly done, but thats not the only worry.

A daemon application must be able to bind the port and allowed on firewall for connection response to occur, which people do not understand as the requirement before a port check.

For those who signed up at SITEX but installation was only done much later, can I check whether your 2-yr contract started from sign-up date (SITEX) or installation date?
