Anyone experiencing lags/ DC on ur starhub fibre nw??:s11: I'm using now to do my online quiz and every few mins the fibre internet gets DC. I'm on the old homehub 200 plan.

Nowadays i watch use much of cable TV, so planning to cancel this when my contract ends in sept and jump to M1 fibre $29/mth plan... Save $$ and better quality internet.

These days, keep getting lags and DC from fibre internet. Seems like my 4G data internet more stable and faster...
Lol. Nothing new. Go read the posts on their FB page.

My case points to the Dlink problem. Called Dlink help desk and it solved with some setting change.

What did they ask u to change? Curious to know what are the settings changed.

This is the change log recorded by Dlink:

- As firmware was updated (1.07SHC)
- Advise to reset the device
- Connect with WiFi and open the setup page
- WAN port was changed (Set the WAN PORT to 1000Mbps)
- Also changes the channels as Ch-9 (2.4Ghz) and Ch-153 (5Ghz)
- Now changes the internet settings as MAC clone was done
- Reboot the router and modem

At least they know how crap their fibre service is and hold off halting cable tv completely.
No lah all along they said till 2019 mah. Anyway, my contract with Viewqwest expired 2019. If starhub BB is still as sh*tty by then, I will drop everything and sign up with Singtel.

A crappy BB connection with frequent disconnects will be worse if one is on fibre TV cos that means no BB and no TV when the connection is down!

I'm considering switching to M1 $29/mth fibre internet. Just pay $230+ penalty on my homehub 200 and jump ship. Maybe will look ard next mth IT fair for promos.

Beats paying another $500+ for next 7mths for lousy fibre internet service!:s13:

Some have already done so...

i.e. pay the Starhub termination penalty & jump over to other ISP.

I was wondering if my laggy starhub fibre be due to my dlink router that's close to 4yo being faulty..

But if many others still kenna tis problem, then can't b. Even this morning surfing net and sending WhatsApp msges also laggy.

If you suspect your router may have problems, you can go buy a 2nd hand cheap used router from Carousell.com to replace your current router & you should then have proper working Internet connection.

IT'S THAT SIMPLE.

Over the years, I've used MANY MANY routers.
From personal experience, routers RARELY / SELDOM spoil and some routers can last for (many) years.

MAJORITY of the time people changed routers is because people want to use a router with better specs -- NOT because of current router spoil.

(If after changing router you still have problems with the Starhub Internet, AT LEAST you know you've tried to eliminate the possibility of a currently faulty router by repacing it with another router.)

Just FYI, maybe you can go read this thread:
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/i...t-intermittent-disconnection-etc-5528184.html

There are about 15 pages in the above thread.

Started by a frustrated Starhub user, who spent a lot of time trying to diagnose his Starhub Internet connection -- including changing routers.

Some things mentioned in the above thread may not be useful or apply to you -- but it's additional feedback / info from another Starhub Internet user for our reference.
