anyone has any idea why my wireless network speed is only 65mbps? im using D-Link DVG-N5402SP that starhub has provided.

My settings are channel 11, Wireless-N only and Auto 20/40M. Are there any other things that I need to tweak?

Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG wireless adapter.. hmmm really weird. Seems like it is not using 40M bandwidth. my speedtest results are always cap at 30mbps max. Other than that, it has been stable.

I think my wireless is throttling my network speed. Direct LAN to the router gives me more than 100mbps, while wireless barely hits 30mbps. Is it because the router simply just sucks? =/

ahhh i fixed this by simply reinstalling all the drivers... thanks for all the help

65Mbps!!?? that is very good fyi. i only hit 30Mbps or less on average. Max i ever hit was 60Mbps after changing 3 routers. This is Dlink SH and not Asus! so too bad lor..

the 65mbps is the network speed.. not my actual speed test speed.. =/

oh. then is probably your wireless card liao. go check the specs of your card. my dell also 65mbps average and up to 72 max in sch. then my dm4 can reach 130Mbps on n5402sp. the specs of my dell card for 802.11n is 72max and 20mhz i think

but n5402sp is still a junk router.

My card can support 150mbps if it's on 40mhz.but the damn stupid router just won't board cast 40mhz. After reset board cast for like 10 secs go back to 20mhz. Give up liao.. Just gonna use wired.

what I noticed from my set is

if you have a wireless g or 20Mhz just one of it connecting to your network, you will be forced to stay at 20Mhz for even your 40Mhz devices.

I just reset my router, with only one that support 40mhz it also go 20mhz. Seriously lousy..

ya seriously mediocre. i don't understand why SH can't use better router. not as if other router more expensive. or who knows dlink really cheap in cost.. LOL then want to use own router also so ma fan must call to kpkb to allow

I dont get it too. if its really cost issue, why dont they let subscribers have the option to opt for better router at the subscriber's cost, probably some dlink with starhub contract terms??

I'm using HL280E, the 1000mbps model. now being replaced by the 500mbps model. Damage is only 45 bucks as i bought from a fellow hwz-er. I find that the standard lan cable they give is only cat5, so im gonna get cat 6 cables as well.. I believe the data is gonna be even better once i replace it. And always plug your home plug straight on the wall socket, dont plug on extensions and etc, more resistance = lower speed.

Thanks bro. Amazing improvement for $45! I'm only getting 20+ Mbps on the SH supplied N5402. (able to get 100+Mbps wired).

HL115 went for $65 last PC show, $70-75 at SLS today, think will juz get it today rather than squeezing at SITEX

you should try looking through this forum to see if anyone is letting go theirs. networking products dont break so easily

Anyone encountering problems with Google playstore on android devices? Can't seem to download any apps from playstore. Surfing and youtube is fine. Just downloading apps from Google playstore on android.
