clients r moar budget conscious these days.

Want cheap
want good
want fast

:(
Rising cost.
Rising rental cost .
Probably the 2 force many coys to outsource to cheaper countries and if stay put, try to get cheaper workers to work here in spore.
Worst case, shift out n many jobs will be lost.

The lady in the mask is simply living in her own world. Why should there be any compassion from the company when they retrench you? Would you be working for the company if they don't pay you salary each month? Will you have compassion for your bosses if they are unable to pay for your salary?

Companies should always focus on profits before anything. The first thing all employees should do when they wake up each morning is to look into the mirror long and hard and ask themselves why the companies they are working for should still have a use for them. The day they see themselves losing value to the companies they work for. They should start to panic and find ways to create values for the companies they work for.

As for the company that replaced local workforce with those from Malaysia. There is nothing wrong with it. First thing those affected should asked for salary reduction to match Malaysians replacing them and maybe showcase willingness to work for longer hours to show how driven they are instead of whining about being replaced.

got a few white elephant in the room but no one want to actually go deeper. :s13:

video did happen to go into ad break when karen was talking about her position replaced by jhk but no continuing discussion there.

is it really Foreign Talent or people with dubious qualification coming in to take jobs at a lower salary?

there will be a talking point when sg can get a union to protect people from retrenchment instead of running a supermarket
Ya, some issues not sufficiently addressed. But still I like how Diana ask questions to HR point blank.

The takeaway message I got from the program really is, employer have all the leverage to kick people out with little to no impunity. Better to just be financially prepared for layoffs.

No need to wait for rts. Since covid, sinkies all love to wfh and complain when they have to go back office.

Guess what, it proves that companies just need virtual workers, and since that is the case, just hire a cheaper one from another country.

Sinkies can also be virtual workers for overseas companies.... 😂

Working in civil service doesn't mean iron rice bowl. A singaporean posted that she was told to leave her job in garment sector.
