Still not able to go into update firmware mode.

Perhaps the power on from standby mode is the one that prevent go into software update mode.
"After pressing power off in the remote to standby, and press power on on the remote, the tv display doesn't turn on." It is similar when i tried to update firmware from setting .. about.. after validate, the tv restart but no display.

This issue should be solved by the seller. will keep bugging them.
Did you know how to flash IMG file ?
Off TV buy long pressing on remote, then forget remote.
Or unplug from power socket, then plug back.
Press and hold power button on TV, till flashing started.

To push the TV to software update, one step to try is keep pressing the power button and insert the plug into the socket. This step is required if you are on very old version like in my case v012
Thank you very much, Roidred!!

All problems are solved. Can power on from standby and also managed to update the firmware to v72.

One of the customers had uploaded a photo a few pages back in this thread with a C825 (3rd party Parallel Importer set). His unit had a sticker indicating a 125 watt power consumption rating. This is way lower than TCL's advertised 250 watt power consumption rating on their website. With this in mind, there's a chance the unit might not have MiniLEDs at the back of its panel.

Hello,i purchased a TCL c825 55”,the firmware was T615101-LF1V011,which i use Xbox series x for 4K 120hz for gaming on HDMI 3,but after i upgraded it the latest V072 version,HDMI 3 doesn’t support 4K only 1080p only,so i have to use HDMI 1 for 4K 120hz only.

I tho it was part of the firmware, but when i was playing the game, the screen start to flicker on to a blank for a second or so then back to normal, this happen quite frequent, and i cant seem to solve the problem, turning VRR and ALLM off even HDR are off, the tv work fine with 4K 60hz just not with 120hz

Was wondering if i should flash again on V072 again for a clean install or downgrade to older firmware.
Anyone else encounter this problem before?

Hi there, this is my first post here since I've just purchased 55" R646 from Dailybasis. Initially ordered C825 but seller did mention its Japan spec then I ran into this thread and read all the hardware mismatch. I changed the night before delivery and seller helped me through the changes.

TV came in generic TCL box with R646 sticker on the side. Box is sliding upwards like reviews in youtube. After turning on I was expecting an Android(crippled tcl) but it is running Google TV Android 11 with google keyboard! Able to login google account and download apps from the store. All tv picture settings works as it should (fald, motion control, etc). Came with US 2 pin plug but 3 pin cable can be used. On Netflix it will run Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, popup will come out and Dolby Vision picture settings can be tuned (not accessible when not playing dolby vision videos). Youtube can play HDR 10 and popup will come out.

Its running on MT9615 on platform MT5889 which is A73 1300mhz (C825 is running at 1600mhz) G52 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32gb internal storage (22gb usable). As with backlight I've tested, it has 128 zones (16x8) but specs online said 240 zones which I believe inside their largest screen 75" (20x12?). On the back of the tv theres 2 hdmi 2.1 (4k 120hz) but I dont have PS5 to try them. Rated power is 260W while from BestBuy photo shows 65" running 340W.

The black is black, darkest black similar to oled no such thing as grey screen. For about $500 more you can buy C825 but it is running android 11 at the moment, not google tv. Google home and voice control works, 3 dots will light up infront when you say ok google and you can turn all the lights off in the settings.

My only gripe is that it does not come with the new remote RC902N with side volume. Instead the old RC802N was given and i think this is normal for supplier that they take the ori remote to sell seperately and make more profit?

The only reason I choose R646 over C825 is because it is shipped with google tv instead of waiting for updates for C825.

I hope this helps. Let me know if the tv I got have different specs than listed online so far I think it is very similar.

I have no permission to post photos but can dm me and i send you the Aida reports.

Yes u can check on Carousel they shipping the US sets. BestBuy US also in stock now..
Can you type your firmware version ?
Is V8-T615T01-LF1V0xx
or
V8-T615T01-LF1Mxxx
?

Edit:
I am glad you didn't choose C825 JAPAN market version, as hardware and firmware is as P725 / C725.
And on Android 9, HDMI x3, 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, old RT51M Platform.
They have problems with Netflix,Disney+ ,Nvidia shield pro over hdmi cannot play Dolby Vision content. etc....
