You are right on that, it does help after going through one and really read up again for the next "test" (interview). They may have their own agenda, just that if this is a programme with a criteria of no work experience should have some leveling. Let's say both trainees, the work expectations for those who have abundant of knowledge most likely expect to do more. On hindsight, there are other FIs interview that is literally just interest and chit chat. It differs alot from FI to FI.
Some FI have been in this programme for 3 to 4 years, i guess they have experience what to look for as a min level of entry point in order to get to speed of their regular work.

Hi all, I just received an invite from JPM as well, via email from recruit pal. The interviewer asked that I accept the interview via tfip site, but there are no links for me to click on to accept the invitation. Is there a website to accept such invites that I’m unaware of? Thank you all so much for your advice!

Anyway, good luck to all of us here on this job search journey!

For recuiterpal is always two email, one to inform, the other one comes with the hyperlink. The second email may come in an hour or even next working day

From my own experience, the hiring manager / HR can set a interview date/time and ask you to either accept/decline/propose a new timing. Virtual meeting link will be included as well.

Any way u can email back to the interviewer to clarify?

You too. I got questions like:
1. How do you access to aws using rdp and access keys?
2. What is VPC and subnet?
3. Do you know how to use terrform?
4. Can you read Pcap file?
5. Can you read flag?
6. Can you tell me how does security event started?
7. What is the complex issue u have handled before?
8. If you unsure attack incident event, what should you do? Then if that is not available what should u? What next and next...

All above, just said dont know hahaa.
That is insane. Then what is the point of having a training institute for the TFIP programme if one is expected to already know everything they need for the role.

Sounds really technical..

In my first interview with an insurer, the hiring manager asked about why you want to get into this role, etc. Nothing on technicals as he said it's not fair to the candidate and not the purpose of the programme.

Scheduled 3 interviews today, all with the same (local) FI -.- two more to go.
Salute to this FI.

I didn’t have the interviewer’s email as it wasn’t included in the email. I reached him on LinkedIn instead LOL but he asked me to accept the invite.

You are right. TFIP so why ask these questions? No experience in these area then join TFIP. If got experience, won't bother at all, i think the interviewer is hiring script writer to create story during interview.
Well, I guess for this year, the ball fall on the FI's courts to choose their candidate. Coming up with such questions is a filter to get the "best" candidate from the pools. I agree with you on the question and think there is a miscommunication of btw TFIP and FI in terms of the expectation of candidates as it is expected to have someone without experience. Like who will use AWS in their free time and hobbies apart from work TBH and AWS will be geared toward Cloud Computing rather than Cybersecurity.

The FI who ask aws stuff cos he shortlist me for cloud security. I think even going through bridging mind or smu course can't cover the scope of cloud security. I feel the course is quite surface. Our application to IBF is cybersecurity which is very general and for newcomer which is aligned with the training.
FI side recieved 200 over resumes of course will pick the best with experience and quickly filled the position available in FI then host trainee to work in 1 area where the manpower is exceeded.
I even attended one interview where the interviewer doesn't know what position I applied for and is their first time doing the TFIP prog. HR has to explain to the interviewer during the meeting. So end of the day, I don't know what post i applying.

I guess for most FIs it doesn't matter what exact CS role / position you are interviewing for because trainees would come in with such a low knowledge base, they can be deployed anywhere for 'exposure' (good or bad depends on how FI uses u and whether they train u or not). E.g. any functions within SOC + help them with more admin/ project / less urgent & critical stuff.

FI can don't need to get low knowledge candidates to begin with. Out of 200 over resumes surely have people with IT experience candidates to pick.

this is so true.

If you chose the FIs (esp the popular, and well established ones) be prepared that you will likely not make the cut if you have no IT experience.. but truth be told, if you have none and still managed to get in... its likely you will be struggling as the training will definitely not give you enough depth.

You will need to be mentally prepared to give it your all for the next 2 years..

So how did you get the invite for the interview? Have you finished the interview?

Can withdraw by giving 1-month written notice with valid reason(s). <-- Based on IBF youtube video.

Email them to clarify for more info
