S&p futures 2888 now. I can only trade when US premarket opens so it's all good. Something is funny though I can't find any reason. Futures turning red at same time that gold ejaculated... Not that I'm complaining.

Oh...you're not trading the futures directly? Anything can happen during Asian hours before US opens at night.

I'm willing to accept the risk as the chance of an overnight US china reconciliation is very low.

Looks like countries are itching for a war. I guess wars are bullish?

True. I have always struggled with position sizing. How do you decide position sizing? I tend to take large size trades, relative to my networth. I am always too eager to get all in or all out.

Well, since you know that large position size makes you jittery, just decide on the size based on your comfort level. I would suggest not more than 10% of your net worth in one trade. One shouldn't spend sleepless nights because of their positions.

Also, limit your reading of news articles, most of them talk about extreme cases either too bearish or too bullish and create unnecessary clutter in one's mind, leading to swing in emotions from fear to greed and back to fear. Instead read books on technical analysis, option greeks, charting techniques, risk management, entrepreneurship, etc. They will be more useful in your investing journey.

If possible, do some physical exercise and practice meditation to calm down your emotions. Its important to feel positive even in the most adverse situation.

The gambling attitude needs to change. In fact, I recommend only 0.5 - 1% per trade.

I hate nibble in shares, and spread over counters. Usually a buy position shot of 40%, average down 20%, final dose in 40%. Where as come to sell, I tend to show hand at 100%.

Patient to gain, no pain no gain. Wait for the right time, the market is always open:)

The China/HK Crisis is already set in motion.
https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/business/hong-kong-tycoons-start-moving-assets-offshore-fears-extradition-11628446

If you are a Hongkie now.. anyone with means will start to think abt moving some of their assets abroad.

Those HK middle class holding too much Hongkong dollars will also switch to USD assets and try to setup overseas bank account and do transfer.

1 person do is nothing..
a million people do is something..

Ur HK currency peg is gonna break....

You can google Kyle Bass on the whole chain of events.....

I don't like it that he uses alot of superlatives. But he could be onto something.

But I don't see a timebomb. It's only a break on the currency peg. That means a localised severe inflation right?

What about those people who invested in shoebox properties in HK? All will sell, sell, sell, correct?

Most people here are already traders with own methods already & exchanging experience here.

If you so good you will get more students by converting those long term blindly DCA people in Shiny Thing thread. Show them what they are missing. Most people there very rich can afford your course.

Why bother with some racist juvenile who has through his postings demonstrated that he is just an empty vessel. Responding to him only feeds him the attention he craves... the only track record (the only thing true about him) which he can boast about is the many times he gets banned from this forum. :s13::s13::s13:

If can sell .. they will sell and exchange for a unit in singapore or other safer country..

It's just exchanging to something safer.. , much like u switch from equities to bonds or from sg equity to us equity etc .

Basically .. it's like us..
if you know Singapore gonna do something really bad that will **** up the economy and make investors (MNC, business, VC etc etc) lose confidence in the system, you will start shifting your assets out.

U will keep some here but u will be start moving... even if the govt backtrack and say they are not doing it now. U know it's already set in motion.. unless a new govt takes control.

The smart one all left a long time ago....
