Would like to share with you bros out there on my experience with Nexus 4 thus far since I gotten it last week.

I was an iPhone user for the past 2.5yrs and decided to switch to Android platform. Researched and found out about the latest Nexus series by Google manufactured by LG. Placed my order on 1st Feb and took around 2weeks in total using DHL Express to lay my hands onto this beauty.

Was impressed by the fine appearance of the glass back at first sight. However, as many may have known, it is very vulnerable to drops so do be careful in handling your phone, lest a broken screen/back!

Secondly, navigation was smooth without any major displeasure. The processor and 2gb ram did what is expected to be. No poor framerates were observed in gaming and multi-tasking was quick and efficient.

Truly a worthy switch back to Android since my last experience with Android 1.5 Cupcake. OS is vastly improved and would choose Android over iOS anytime now.

However, one issue I encountered with the Nexus 4 was slow charging via AC on my first 2 charges. 1% was observed to be charged in as long as 10mins. I wonder if anyone of you experienced this before. Charging resumed normality when I shut off my phone and charge it while its off for 10mins and switched back on. The only current concern I would have is if the problem would occur again

Lastly, battery life is acceptable to me. Eventually, it depends on individual usage patterns and can always search around for battery saving tips. I did underclock/undervolt my processor though to maximise battery life.

I would recommend Nexus 4 to any bros out there looking for a powerful Android handset with a budget to meet. However, if you're keen on using LTE or camera quality to be your main concern, you should look elsewhere for alternatives.

All in all, thumbs up apart from the long wait due to low supply during initial sale

glad another IOS to android convert...android has come a long way since cupcake, back then it's really ugly...what with the color scheme (grey button with orange highlights, ugh) and all the fonts and size and all wrong ...but now especially since 4.0 ICS, the common misconception that android and ugly and user-unfriendly is no longer valid....we now have a very modern and elegeant UI (roboto font with Holo blue theme) consistent. there's still some inconsistency that hopefully there can iron out (the '3 dots' option button should be app standardised, either fixed it and the top right or bottom right,
not some app at top right, some at bottom right. Another standardisation is recommend is that option screen should be black background with holo blue fonts while app screen should be white background with holo blue fonts, instead the current where it is over the place as well.)

all in all, it's good days of being an android user currently

Did you use the provided charger/usb cable + AC charging, or did you use your own charger/USB charging?

I used my own Nook Touch charger and it was really freaking slow, until I found out it's providing half the amount of charge. Switched to the original and now it is quite fast.

Indeed a great switchback to Android. UI is greatly improved and much more customizations can be made. It is constantly improving and I forsee more great things ahead for Android

Did you use the provided charger/usb cable + AC charging, or did you use your own charger/USB charging?

I used my own Nook Touch charger and it was really freaking slow, until I found out it's providing half the amount of charge. Switched to the original and now it is quite fast.

I used the provided charger/usb cable for both initial charges. I realised the problem on my second charge and used Samsung Note 2 charger with 2.0A output and iPad charger with 2.1A output but issue persists. I tried USB charging too but to no avail. And thus, I switched my phone off and charged for 10mins and issue resolved.

honestly, as good a deal as the n4 is...i think the best bang for buck gadget so far is the nexus 7.....32gb 3g is cheaper than a 16gb wifi ipad mini...best deal of the year...

Been using the Nexus 4 for almost a week now. Initial impressions are as such. This is coming from a previous SGS3/One X/Desire Z user

Battery life - substantially worse than SGS3, though comparable/slightly better than One X/Desire Z. One X/SGS3 both have power saver modes, is there one for the Nexus 4?
Screen - resolution is excellent, and the painted on screen effect is there much like the SGS3/One X, but colors are substantially more washed out than the SGS3 or One X. Thought it was due to IPS vs AMOLED, but the One X doesn't have the same problem. By itself it doesn't look so bad, but in comparison the SGS3/One X colors just pop out more.
Heat - after playing games for a while, the phone tends to become hotter than any of the other phones. It also zaps the battery during use.
Performance - the SGS3/One X are already very fast, but the Nexus just takes whatever lag was there, and makes it virtually disappear. UI performance and screen transitions are instant.
Design: Love the back/front, but not so mad about the plastic sides and the chrome trim. Also, the non-descript front makes it look slightly generic looking.

Other than that, love the phone.

there is no need to buy the app if you just want to change the color configurations values. You can just head to

/sys/class/misc/gammacontrol

and edit the files directly.

Anyone know how to switch keyboards when typing? I downloaded the Go Keyboard to write Chinese characters but couldn't find an easy way to change back to the default keyboard without going to settings... Used to be able to just long-press on the text box to select another keyboard in my old Moto Defy.

settings, language & inputs, selector notification. there will be a icon at the status bar which you can select to switch keyboard. (icon will only appear when you are using a keyboard)
