Link already been posted... just that people do not want. They rather wait for updates via PC companion or thru service center, for reasons i dun know why. :)

Long wait for XS ICS for now, it's totally worth it.

its a worthy wait lor
Xs need a bump update lor
go head on with the big boys ahhah

Huh??

How is that call hacking??

You go service center update they might be using the same flashtool to flash your phone to ICS...

You are wrong, they are not using Flashtool but another software update program provided by Sony Mobile.

It's still another tool aka software to update. No? :s22:

They both serve the same purpose. -____________________-''

Taken from XDA

Known bugs with ICS release:
1. Lower Wi-fi signal than Gingerbread ROM
2. ICS camera features like Burst Shot missing in this release (Use apps like Camera ZOOMFX for the same)
3. Phones heating up for some users (reportedly solved by a reboot)
4. Calender widget not showing birthday and all-day events, only timed events

good to hear. now i just need to wait for the official update for the Singtel set. by the way what are the major improvement? Is there and changes to the music player apart from the name?

Major Improvements
- Launcher is effing smooth now
- Can resize widgets
- Can pinch to zoom in camera mode
- Gallery has a major revamp

Music Player's pretty much the same but you now have a choice of several visualizations that respond to touch

Their methods are legal and won't void my warranty =X
And some more it's official Sg firmware.

Are you sure????

The linked tutorial does not require you to root your Sony Xperia S and it does not require you to unlock your bootloader.

So how does this void warranty i seriously do not know.

You guys are a funny lots. When ICS is not here, you all complain ICS is not here. When ICS is here you can do it yourself, you complain it will void your warranty. People go down service center and come back with ICS, you all doubt again...

Funny lots... to be honest. :)

Only eeLsinneD is opposed to flashing via any non-official means. His view is that such methods are considered to be hacking. Everyone's entitled to their own view. :)

To me, as long as bootloader is locked then it is still under warranty. No need to worry about usual or unorthodox methods of software updates. :D
