Would love to buy them too.
But switched to another pair to target already. Track series getting more and more common. Just saw 2 pairs at my office building last week. :S

Just for your info...

RX version of Oakley should always get LOCAL version though it cost more. Lemme tell you why, cos there is "FREE" Life time replacement for the nose pad and temple sockets rubbers only for RX version. Those earpad and socket will cost about 20 - 30 dollars if you buy them seperately. Any one who uses oakley will tell you the socket rubbers sucks big time and you need to replace them every 3 - 6 mths as they will get tear on the side with use.
i tot got change before?

no more lifetime?

any idea where i can get a similar pair of specs to this tag?
There were a few imitations going around when tag broke into the market. Cant seem to find anymore.

Cant afford $500 specs at the moment. :o

I believe Northern Opticians at Jurong Point level 2 has a similar one for like $100 for the frame with free lens or something

Confirm this. I've visited Larrikin twice this year already.

I thought it only happened to me because I run with them on and I perspire alot and don't wipe the sweat of my spectacles. Looks like that's not the only case.

Carnage, you brought yor specs to Larrikin to change the rubber ear socks? For me, I'll just bring it back to the optical shop (with a photostated receipt and warranty card) and they will replace it for me there and then. :)

grey 1 really? it's the same as mine.

initially was wearing the blue 2 tone mirror finish.. but apparently got defect, as after cleanin the frame, the mirror finish starts to fade. the boss of optic focus was kind enough to get a replacement for me.

i opted out for a mirror finish.. and chose the current grey single tone.

i can't remember i paid how much for the 1st pair.. i think close to 600 for everything, frame 400 odd and 120 for the lense. the frame is cheaper compared to a few optical shops i went to. 1 in adelphi and 1 in suntec.

but i was quoted a cheaper price for another pair. the latest design with a double temple.

i dunno whether did i pay too much, but i would say the service is good at the optical shop i mentioned earlier.

they mentioned that i would need to order early if i want to get a customised set before X'mas. the frame size and design can be customised to one preference.

I also didn't get the one with mirror as I think it looks normal. I love the tranparent frame anyway. I think 400 is pretty cheap. Mine total was 700+ as my lens is very expensive. It is so light my friend said it feels like a toy. :s13:

yeah, it's almost weightless.. after wearing this, i wouldn't considered get any other glasses anymore.. :)

Oh opticians can do it now?
I thought Oakley frames could only be serviced by Larrikin.

havent worn my oakleys in a while.
been >2yrs
it's condition is quite distasteful
rubber all worn out, green stuff around
the nose pads are brown!

wonder if they'll do 1-1 for me

can someone confirm this change of rubber and nosepads can be done at any optical shop?

I have changed the ear socks both from Larrikin (the whole specs) and my optical shop. But most of the time from the shop. But the optical shop will insist that the photocopied receipt and the warranty card to be submitted to them.

Prescription specs - nose pad and ear sock replacement are free for life..
Sunglasses - No warranty, hv to purchase replacement if worn out..
of course have to produce warranty card..
Always ask my wife to help as Larrikin office is just below hers, never tried @ AD shops..

If it's normal lenses yea that's a ripoff, but if polycarbonate that's roughly the quoted price.

http://www.allaboutvision.com/lenses/polycarb.htm

[[[I went to the spectacles shop at Cathay level 1, was quoted more than $300 for polycarbonate lenses with hi-index and multi-coat. :s22:
For sure that's a ripoff.

Both polycarbonate and Trivex lenses block 100 percent of the sun's UV rays. This built-in protection is provided by the lens material itself. So there's no need to purchase special UV-blocking lens coatings.

Polycarbonate lenses are actually constructed out of material that is identical to what is called "bulletproof glass." But while polycarbonate is extremely impact-resistant, it's a relatively soft material. This "softness" gives polycarbonate lenses their ability to absorb energy without breaking.]]]]

Polycarbonate lenses already is UV-Proof

Bishan ST 24 blk 280 got one shop selling specs at S$38 (frame and multicoat lenses with UV & EMI). Frames in $38 package are ok looking, unlike other nearby shops.

Think shop is Kenzo Optics.

but then once u enter shop, u will most likely buy the $58 / $78 package ones. they may also have the tag hueur look-alike frames (think is in the $78 package).

but then rimless frames require polycarbonate lenses and so need to top up some more money.
