Which would be a better buy? Buying for keeps. Resale value is of no concern to me. The Zenith's face is interesting and the JLC's face is less so (but still nice). But owning a JLC is so enticing ....

I'll pick the JLC if I got extra moolah to spend. The dial is clean n simple. From the feedback of most users, the movement Cal.899 is amazingly accurate.

The 899 movement had these notable improvements to increase accuracy and reliability.
- Balance-cock is equipped with two supports
- Balance spring is laser welded to the stud and collet
- Ceramic ball bearings
- Variable inertia balance
