Lugs are 22mm. Don't swim and don't really require something that can tahan sweat cos I'm going in a cold country to further my studies so yeah.

Where maybe cheaper buying there, EU and states has lots of online store selling quality straps. Oz u are out of luck just buy here.

If u are looking at Breitling, you can take a look at Superocean 44, I have this piece with blue sec hand... Within your budget but 44mm... the watch is heavy and thick. :D I changed to black silicone strap and wear this for casual. If u wear office long sleeves shirt then not quite suitable.

..I love the sub too and was looking at the Pam 25 before I was introduced to the 389. Love at 1st sight. I know that this may sound like a heresy but I was attracted to the 389 more than the iconic 372..
Among the Submersibles, I only truly have eyes for the 243.

From L2L (end of the lugs), it is 57.95mm.
That is HUGE. Hope you have the wrist to pull it off, I sure don't!

Ah, the 243! Nice but for me, personally, I would choose a Pam without the cyclops date. :)

As for the 389's size, I believe it is the height that makes the watch easier to pull off on a smaller wrist. Mine's a 6.25" wrist and I was surprised that I still could wear a 47mm 1950 Luminor. I didn't feel so comfortable with a 372 (47mm) because it was on the classic Luminor case.

Here's a comparison with between my 44mm 351 and the 47mm 389.

my Sinn 556A:

bought a couple of months back and swapped the band for a hirsch liberty. unfortunately there's already been some scratches on the AR coating. not too particular though. would recommend this for anyone looking for a daily beater.

My order just arrived at home today!

A 47mm Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic Titanio. Now that is a mouthful!

I changed out the strap to a brown one, for a bit of uniqueness!

Don't really like the watch, but that strap is excellent. I need to get a really thick high-quality strap for my UTS....
