From my understanding, Automatic requires adjusting of timing and/or date as and when the accuracy is off and as for quartz is when the battery weakens or die then you need adjust.

Of course there are other factors to consider as well. Depends on your perspective

but i see all the watches posted here, other than the branded ones, all are automatic.

I'm looking to get my first watch but with a limited budget so I'm not sure if I should get quartz or automatic.

I can only speculate that he thinks the leather strap with its tail sticking inwards was installed incorrectly, which would be the case for pin buckle.

He is probably unfamiliar with deployant clasps that are installed such that the tail sticks inwards.

My budget is about $300-600. Quite low as still a student.

My initial target was Seiko Sumo but some people that i show the picture to, they don't like it. so i'm wondering is it really a need to get automatic? As if its quartz, so many other watches choices open up.

How big is your wrist. I'm sure a lot of bros here can recommend decent watches with that 600 budget.

Get a thermocompensated quartz or super quartz if you want a quartz watch. There are many out there......Sinn UX, Breitling professional models or even maybe the Grand Seiko quartz.

$600 budget , ppl don't like so you don't buy.

I would have to respectfully disagree with you. People buy watches for a myriad of reasons. Some of which, includes "showing off" to their friends (not that I agree that should be the right reason to purchase a watch).

However, I would say that the majority of people who contribute their photos here do so for our passion of watches. It is true that some may misconstrue the intentions, but still, it is up to the individual.

So, please purchase what you like and not what your friends like. Your money, your choice.

To interchange between straps, you would need straps.

what Pam models are readily available for purchase at boutique and ADs?

all the basic entry PAMs seem to be sold out, with a long waiting list.

with my budget which models can i consider? preferably smaller models... prefer a clean design with no date,no seethrough caseback

U may wan to check 390 out. Clean. Sealed back case.

Point to note. 44mm and non pam made movement. Theres this blog post that open up 390 movement. Not exactly nicre.

Maybe you can get from dealer with shop front. At 2nd hand price.. You get a bigger range of selection. If you like simple and large watch.. I suggest 372. 422. This should fit the 9k range at 2nd hand price. Cheers
