Game changer, not in way of overtaking kimchi or fruit, but make people withdraw from paying so much for those big brands.

though already many good China phones, but none has made people sit up and look.

Yes I think if the Xiaomi Redmi is wildly successful, that leaves Samsung, Apple, Sony, HTC, etc (and that includes Xiaomi as well) to do battle in the premium segment... Quite tough!

If a S$169 can do all this, is a $800 or $1000 premium smartphone gonna be 4 or 5 times better? :)

redmi error/problem

Hi

Can anyone try this to see if the phone has any error/problem.

1) insert 2 valid sim cards into the phone
2) deactivate sim 2
3) reboot the phone
4) with sim 2 deactivated, from the contact or call log, click on any contact and dial

Please help to feedback your test.

By the way, sync sim card referring to what?

Thanks.

But Mi3 has no LTE right? That's the only letdown for a superb specs.
Believe Xiaomi is releasing an LTE variant soon. So for those who really need LTE may want to wait instead, whereas for me, I am still on my 12GB data bundle, so it's alright :)

You should get your phone soon. So far, I use some apps to move the apps into the microSD but when I tried to run them from the SD card, it asked if I want to install it which installed it on the phone again.

I think you might need to root the phone for that to work, I guess.

Hmm thanks, 4GB - MIUI means not much space left for apps, but I guess its still ok, since I'm not an app heavy person, will use the microsd for photos & songs.

And yes my hongmi just got delivered! And to my surprise it isn't a guy, its a middle-aged lady who delivered it haha. I always had the impression most of this logistics delivery personal are guys.

Even if on par performance, will it last 5 times longer? And who wants your phone to last 5 years...Think many here also learn from recent past that no point splurging on phonesthat last only 15-18 months.

Mi3 will provide the highend battle lor. Which IMHO Xiaomi is quite smart to narrow 1 model per market, redmi for Low and Mi3 for high.

As it is, all you can do with google apps is just to disable them. Apps like MiTalk and Facebook, you can uninstall them.

So far the phone is decent.
Only negative thing (imo), no light on the home/back panel. when in dark place it's kind hard to view or locate it.
