For those who want to flash their HongMi with custom ROMs, you can find them here :

ROM ZJ

ROM JD

It helps if you can read Chinese, though. You'll need to first install a custom recovery, like ClockWorkMod aka CWM.

PS: I don't have a RedMi, and I'm NOT responsible if you **** up your phone. I'm just a user of these websites who have downloaded the ROMs and flashed them to my huawei phone.

PPS: please make sure RedMi phones can be flashed with HongMi ROMs. It should be fine since they are the same phones, but it's your responsibility to double-check.

As long as it is the WCDMA version, it should be fine. You can get gapps by flashing Gapps package immediately after flashing the custom ROM.

can we flash this rom?

theme/option button/import
Doesn't work if the theme is not from their MIUI store.. always says unauthorized...

I mean it can be imported but can't be applied..

just found out it's possible but the phone must be rooted.. lol..

I have the same issue as you, 3G is faster than my starhub fiber wifi. I think it's the router issue because I don't have issue when connecting to my iphone 5s hotpot.

Yep same problem, with asus nt 66 and Linksys wrt320n, it seems like the connection is intermittent, 3g is fine. I think the wifi chipset is not very good

so you guys found any solution to the wifi issue?, settings for the router? its annoying to a certain extend. The wifi spec say a/b/g/n, it shld be quite a latest specifications. why it don't work...

So which setting is it? :s11:

U need to login to ur wifi UI. then what i did was change the scanning from auto scan to channel 11. after which i disconnected my phone wifi and forget the current network.

Next step i shut down both the white open net box n' the starhub router. let them off for awhile like say 10 minutes.

Lastly i restarted the open net box first until i saw the LINK led lights up. then i power up the starhub router. and wait awhile once its online. i reconnect my phone wifi and DONE! blazing fast now!

i managed to download all the apps, load Facebook, instagram and youtube with a breeze!
