Did you do the CWM method with only the root-stable.zip ?

or Did you do the TWRP method with two zip files(the above and HM1SG-TWRP-2.5.0.0-stas2z.zip) ?

Also, are you on SG RedMi set?

I tried the CWM method with single root-stable.zip on SG handset and got error of "Invalid OTA package, missing scatter"
I used the TRWP method and mine is a local redmi.

I bought one in shenzhen. It is not xiaomi brand but look exactly the same. Probably non authentic but the sound quality is v good. It is less than sgd $10.

The trouble is that the good and bad ones also looks the same on the outside or at least those photos they put up so sure hard to say what you get when you order online.

I can't call myself to be a photographer but from 2005-2011, I took photos very frequently in various light conditions and did a lot of photo editing using photoshop.

I can see that your picture is full of digital noise even in such bright light condition, meaning that the image sensor is of low quality and any picture taken in low light conditions will be so full of "noise" that it cannot make it.

Yes you shouldn't. You should try to understand the physical constraints handphone makers face in terms of dimensions of the photosensors and even the lens, then perhaps you will realise that handphone photography is something bordering on an engineering feat.

If you are interested, you can read the following introduction article by Brian Klug of Anandtech. Introduction is a misnomer in this context. I often find that articles written by Anand and Brian to be of quality.

Well, although I don't understand all the technical jargon in the article, I already knew most of the things in the article.

If you are into photography for long enough, you can tell whether an image sensor and/or lens can make it or not, from a photography point of view.

3 major things affecting image quality :
1) camera lens
2) image sensor
3) conversion of the analogue signals captured by the image sensor into digital forms

The limitation of phone cameras is no excuse for poor image quality and I was not even commenting whether Xiaomi's camera is good/bad vs. other phone cameras nor whether the camera is good/bad for a S$169 phone.

I was basically just commenting the picture quality of the image from a photography imaging point of view.

Yes, I have seen much better image quality from many other phones before.

I mentioned I cannot be called a photographer because even someone who is not a photographer but with just some basic knowledge of photography, can easily see and tell that redmi's picture quality isn't very good from a image quality point of view because of noise level (which would be very apparent under low light shooting conditions).

If you cannot see it, then you are probably a complete photography noob.

v13.0 rom SG RedMi Handset Rooted

1. Install HM1SG-TWRP-2.5.0.0-stas2z.zip to gain TWRP. Remove battery to power off the phone, and then press Down Button + Power Button (without accidentally restarting the phone as you normally would or you'll have to repeat this process) to access to TWRP.

2. Then under TWRP, install root-stable.zip and phone was rooted.

This is again the link for reference:
How to install TWRP and ROOT your RedMi/Hongmi/Redrice - Redmi 1/1S/Note - MIUI Official Community

My local Redmi set is showing hardware id as HM1W. Shd I be using the twrp for HM1W or HW1SG?
