First of all, do you have SUPERSU app showing in your phone? If YES then it's already rooted, case closed.

Is TWRP successfully installed? You should see this screen if it is.

Lemme know before I go further.
----

Yes i now have supersu and also the screen you mentioned. But when i try to install more apps it still says insufficient memory even though i had a 32gB SD card.
How to check and confirm through setting or whatever to know if my redmi is rooted or not.
Thanks

no earphones cannot hear, put in earphones then can hear radio. can also cheat by plugging in earphones a little bit and hear from phone. earphones act as antenna for radio

lol seriously? no need to do that bro. just plug in fully. then look at the top LEFT hand corner of your screen tap that little sound icon to play from loudspeaker :D

wah lau so troublesome to use the ear piece .. plus my ears cannot put in ear piece for long . Plus gregkwan mentioned earlier in the post that xiaomi claimed that redmi can hear without ear phones

Breathing is troublesome too. You might wanna consider ending your misery.

Plug in your earphone as antenna, SWITCH to LOUDSPEAKER mode, and you will be spared from having objects penetrating your orifices.

The phone isn't the trouble. You are.

Install System App Remover (ROOT) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp

At first start, it will ask you for root permission. GRANT IT. If it is successful, you are rooted. Go to SuperSU and you will see permission logs, if the # symbol is marked in GREEN, it confirms the app for root permission acess.

Next, it is presumably your own understanding that rooting allows you to install/move apps to to SD card. You probably understand wrong on this aspect. Rooting is the merely first step, apps will always be installed by default into phone memory, so by rooting alone, your apps will still be installed into the phone's memory. You have to manually move installed apps into SD card, which can be done by the above app (SYSTEM APP REMOVER (ROOT)) - this is one of the key purpose of rooting.

As you move apps over to SD, you will free up phone memory which will allow you to install further apps. Just repeat the process as necessary, and be reminded that everytime PlayStore updates an app, even when the app has been previously moved to SD, the updated app will always be installed to phone memory as default. So you will need to repeat the moving to SD again after playstore updates to prevent your phone memory from becoming depleted.

By default, iirc, there is about 1.2gb free space thereabouts in the phone memory for apps at fresh state.

Paid $12 each and ordered 2 pieces. It arrived today but this happened to the first unit i applied. For the premium and hype, nobody would be expecting this, so maybe it's just a lemon but lets see how decent the seller is in qoo10.

Hi bro, did u try to peel off the sp or touched that portion? Cos i had that when i tried to. but now its settled down.
I got that "non stick part" when i tried to pull the sp. But stopped after a little bit.

glass sp its getting cheaper nowadays as compared when it 1st launched.

If worried abt quality delivered probably can get from adix82?
Pay alittle more for professional svc. :)

I do recommend to have the glass sp on as replacement @ svc ctr cos >$100.
Can get a 2nd hand redmi already. Can help abit to prevent screen crack when phone attemp suicide.

Nope, I never touched that portion nor any of the adhesive parts. Neither did I try peeling it off. Just placed the SP down to the screen and everything went into place, except for that corner, which will immediately undo itself even after massaging it down.

Who or where is adix82? I got mine in qoo10 from sgQStore and I'm annoyed by the experience so far.

thank you for your detailed info. Now in understand more about moving apps. But now the problem is i cannot install the System Apps Remover because it keep saying insufficient memory even my free mem is about 500 mb. But i can install other apps.
I may be wrong but i think my device is not rooted yet. How do i start the root process all over again? or is there another solution?
thank again.

Settings>Storage>Internal Storage
Report back the AVAILABLE reading on this part.

The Phone Storage (which is the 3rd component) is NOT where apps will be installed. If Internal Storage is full, then you're done with installing more apps even if Phone Storage reads sufficient space.

Seach "root checker" and download any you fancy to confirm your root status. Regardless whether rooted or not, nothing should prevent the installation of System App Remover when you have sufficient space for it.

Earlier you said "But when i try to install more apps it still says insufficient memory even though i had a 32gB SD card."

Now you're saying "But now the problem is i cannot install the System Apps Remover because it keep saying insufficient memory even my free mem is about 500 mb. But i can install other apps."

So which is it, can you FURTHER install other apps or not? Kindly show some consistency. If you can't install System App Remover nor any other apps from here, and your INTERNAL STORAGE is about full, logic dictates that you ought to just delete some apps for now to free sufficient space for System App Remover, then move apps to SD, before you continue loading more.

Thanks for the heads up. So it's the shop at Burlington, should had googled first, did see some recent comments about the shop carrying Xiaomi accessories.

I have written to the seller, he saw the same picture and claimed that I bent the glass in attempt to remove it, as well proclaimed that I'm the first to have successfully bend a Mocolo SP in SG. Decided to give him a piece of my mind and invited him to inspect at his own expense. Let's see whether he will refund or make replacement for this. I might just invite him to bend it back into place, and/or, bend the other 3 normal corners our of proportion the same way as the pic to prove that it is possible if he insist that I attempted to remove the glass and subsequently bent it which I did not do.

Haha Exactly, glass isn't malleable unlike metals which can be bent and stays in the position, whats more TEMPERED glass. Their demo videos and pics shows them bending the class and all, one even shows them bending it to the point of breakage to demonstrate it's strength. The original Xiaomi's screen protector was a scratch pad, so I replaced it with what I thought was decent, their reviews were pretty well rated, but unfortunately kena a lemon. Only hope the other piece isn't the same when I apply it later in the weekend on another Redmi. That explains why it's annoying having to apply SP for the third time in a month? Simple things like that should be right the first time around. Just my ass luck :s13:

Settings > Sound > Phone Ringtone > Custom

Can you handle your smartphone now? Or is it still smarter than the owner?

you are really patient with all these people.

i think most questions people ask are due to LAZINESS, they are smart i believe.

To be fair I had a bit of trouble with this also. And I am using a Nexus 4 with CFW.

Trouble because the custom ringtone only looks into one specific folder. If you put your MP3 elsewhere it won't be able to detect

It seems that you can't set a 3rd party browser as the default one (Tried next browser) as everytime I click a link from next browser the default one opens it :(

Damn irritating.. and when I disable the default browser setting from the stock browser, it reactivates by itself..
