I just updated my 1S to developer Global ROM much better than the stable version.

Check the "Default Settings" feature under SIM Card, does it allow turning off any of the card once you have set the default function to either Dial or Internet?

No you must remove the card from default before you can turn it off.

That's not true. This feature already exist in Miui v6 stable and I have no issue turning one or both SIM card off even after setting the default. Also there is no way to remove for the Internet default once it's set, ie. it's missing the "No set" option.

This is one of the reason that I downgrade from Developer ROM after reporting it as bug but yet the Miui developer claimed this is not a bug!

redmi 1 is seriously limited with it's limited storage space. don't even have enough space to complete google apps update.

But developer rom for 1S is indeed faster in loading webpage and data connectivity

You are right. Developer rom is fill with bugs. Was on developer rom for my 1s before. Finally went bsck. One biggest problem for global rom verdion is its always lack behind the chinese version. You can almost expect same bugs already reported in chinese plus some addition due to translation.

Bugs are expected in Developer ROM as it's still in beta testing. What really pisses me off is the outright denial from the developer team, instead of verifying it with stable release, they simply push it away when I reported the mentioned bug. It's no wonder it takes forever for them to release so-called stable ROM!! :s8:

You all say until like that but really day to day usage not much issue not really doing them justice though.
Your complaints are more toward advance user complains usually normal users will not notice.

Come on lah, you meant normal user don't know how to switch off SIM card? If something work in stable but not in developer ROM, at least confirm/verify first instead of simply brushing it off. BTW, not referring to you but the developer team.

Remember they had the SIM Card not detected issue in stable?
Does not happen in developer rom anymore.
I believe this was the workaround

Hi all,

Not familiar with xiaomi phone. Need some help here, my mum's redmi 1 stuck in mi logo screen after update of firmware.

Help her reset to factory setting in recovery and managed to boot up but there is no google play store at all?

Read back few pages, Is the ota pushed out not suitable for sg redmi 1??

Any link to download the previous version of firmware? Is google playstore available in it? Thanks in advance.

Sure, but I never expact some basic bug to happen. This means not tested before released.

Do take note that the initial boot-up after ROM update will take much longer than usual so don't interrupt the process.

If her phone has sdcard installed, the ROM file will still be there. Check under downloaded_rom folder. Download from here if need-be.
