Yeah man..after wearing 5167 and trying on 5164, I was not used to it as it has a thicker lug and looks bigger on my small wrist. I nearly went for a 5712R which was 48-51k but missed it..Never did I expect this kind of price surge..

in 2018, my friend got a call for 5712a from cortina at raffles after putting name for less than 3 months. easy. paid and left. he didn't like it and don't see a need for a 40k steel watch sitting in the safe, flip it for high 40s
now it's min 120k

it's so damn easy, those complaining now cannot get, why that time never go buy?
2 things come to mind, either you broke then or there's no hype (for me was the former) LOL

Ah I see. For me it’s a no brainer as I wanted an annual calendar moonphase all the while. And aquanuat pass by me many times in the past when grey prices were below retail..
In your circumstances, indeed it’s not that meaningful

I have to weigh my options carefully as my bullets are limited and I preferred not to buy watches I used to own. In the end, I went for an AC moonphase recently from GD.

OMG..5712a was one of my beauty and it is a fabulous watch that even those not into watches would take a long stare at it..I can't describe with plain words but it is such a waste that your friend don't like it..

Cheapest Patek complication that can bundle for Aquanaut is 65k already. Every year price increase until 50k plus complication become 65-70k. The 5212 Complication is 51k but that one itself is an application model and not allowed to be a bundle for Aquanaut

OMG..5712a was one of my beauty and it is a fabulous watch that even those not into watches would take a long stare at it..I can't describe with plain words but it is such a waste that your friend don't like it..

i don't like it either. nothing special about it. (basically the patek naut starter pack, apart from 5711)
i think the 5726a is way better, especially in white dial
however, i still think nautilus bracelet is one of the shittest ever made.

What did they ask u to bundle with? Any of the patek complications is decent on it’s own

That was what I did as any of the Patek complication is nice for me.

exactly, total purchase over 100k, unless you tell me you like the specific patek comp then ok, good deal because that creates a relationship but having a patek relationship aint cheap.
gotta have deep pockets.

That is true, I took the plunge as:
1)Can get Aquanaut
2)I do like the Patek SS AC
3) Can use that to build profile for other Rolex at same time (Patek can use to build profile for Rolex within the same AD but not vice versa)
4)The two Pateks will be the first and last Pateks I will ever purchase from the AD as Patek is damn costly and think my budget already max out for Rolex/PP for the next 2-3 years

I did try on yr SS AC and like the size as it sits on my small wrist well. However the price tag for a non sport deters me although among the AC is one of the nicer piece.

not about ugly, the quality and design of a naut bracelet is a joke

royal oak bracelet is one of the best, second to rolex - terms of robustness, quality and comfortness.
however, royal oak bracelet finishing is the finest in the world

Do you mean that the patek AC can help you get aquanaut and Rolex sports model? This twin benefits is really good if so.

Indeed the price is super ridiculous for a SS piece albeit a AC. I think PP is starting to price themselves a bit way over what the market is willing to pay for a Complication dress watch. I tell myself that is the one and only Complication I will pay for, for the reasons I mentioned and after that, that’s it. It’s just too expensive to continue.
I receive letter from Thierry Stern a few weeks back, congratulating me for owning a “most remarkable watch” which he like me “to pass on to next generation” in his words. Haha. In my mind, I feel like telling him that his watches are nice but really overpriced.

I had a couple of discussions with the SA and arrive at this conclusion before I decided to take the decision to get the PP Complication. She promised to help me and I hope she would make good her word.
I’m not supposed to tell everyone it works this way as the criteria can change along the way and they may not offer the same thing to every individual customer. So if anyone wished to check if this is the deal, can ask your SA discreetly but don’t say you heard it from a particular person.
