Would the insurance premium charged to my uob one card be considered 1 Giro transaction for Uob one account?

iirc, cuz your GIRO never hit the minimum requirement of 3, you only earn the interest for your card spending

get one more GIRO to your UOB one bank account
- Town council
- income tax
- mobile phone bill
- internet bill
- insurance
etc

When I opened UOB one account, the officer persuaded me to purchase an Prudential insurance with $400/month in order to archive min spend of $500/month, but my insurance premium due date is on 29th every month. Sometimes, the transaction posted on the next month. That's mean I do not get the one bonus interest for the month of Feb20. Very unfair.

yes, not wrong. it's still counted towards bonus interest for UOB One. But it will stop being counted/eligible for UOB One card quarterly cash rebate, after 16 March. This latter one is what some of us are angry with UOB.

Well. Better than nothing since the premiums still count towards fulfilling the min 500 spending (for one acc) in order to get the ~ $150 interest per month

Cant have the best of both worlds as my other spendings are diverted to uob ppv and citi rewards to clock miles.

If you have a stable income and you feel their savings plan helps for the long run stay with it
That cost will be 400x 12= 4800/yr
Cutting out with the bonus on this spending after 15march 2020

Else, 14days grace period for any new plans
Cancel and ask for refund for this 1st mth of payment

Keeping uob one just for own cash savings (can see can touch/ flexible cash)
Bonus interest category is based on individual retail spending subject to exclusion tnc

Coming to think of it....
The monthly charge is for 5years. 4800 x 5 = 24K (principal) not including the compounding interest.

After that you can choose to keep inside or take out.

So look at it as a 5 years saving investment. Earn interest together with uob one. See where you are and how much you save in 5 years time.
