I think it really depends on your spending patterns...

fuss-free cards mostly come with lower rebates/cashback (low min. spend, fewer restrictions, etc.)
- SC Unlimited (1.5%)
- Amex True Cashback (1.5%)
- Citibank Cashback+ (1.6%)
- UOB Absolute (1.7%)
above are some of the favorites?

cards with higher cashback/rebates come with more conditions (higher min. spend, capped for certain category of spending, applicable only for online, etc.)
- so many different conditions that it's difficult to list objectively

can "window shop" to see the various types of cards before choosing one that suits you the most, not just what everyone else has. can look at some sites like singsaver or seedly or moneysmart to compare...
think all exclude tuition/ins except amex and absolute

Hi all, am i right that Lazada is eligible as a UOB one card transaction? Thanks! I used the card to buy an item from Lazada, wanna make sure there is no unwanted surprise for rebate. Thanks!

+1. HSBC is best with almost fuss free 2.5%, and 3.5% if you spend between $2,000 to $2,800.
Yea because I constantly hit or even cross the max cap of 2k for UOB One without ipaymy or cardup..

The only thing holding me back is utilities.. Exclusions are slightly more on HSBC's side..

Having a huge dilemma..

The more ideal would be HSBC if that's the case. At least those txns crossing 2k will also earn 3.5%, while forgoing the utilities. You know your own situation you do your math

Because quite a sizeable portion of my 2k spend involves Utilities lol..

just to share

I called UOB to ask about the effective date of the interest rate change. Mine will start in Sep. The CSO said the coming statements will announce each card holder's effective date change in interest so just watch out for it. It will coincide with a new cycle
My latest statement on 30th April got no info on the new interests change leh.. mine from April may june..

Edit. The news was released on 1st May.. so my effective change should be from July onwards?

For those using UOB Absolute and Grab method to pay income taxes via AXS, if u r paying income tax by Giro installments, will they stop the debit from bank acct if u make the payments before actual debit date?
I heard it usually require at least 5-6 days prior to debit date for the Giro installment system to get the updates.

Also if I decided to pay lump sum upfront via AXS, will it also stop the corresponding Giro deductions for the next few affected months?

Re: iras payment vs giro

This doesn’t work the month where your NOI is issued, right? Any AXS payment ends up counting against your new tax bill, rather than the giro amount
need to pay about 1 week before the giro deduction on 6th of the month, so indirectly yes

Then basically theres some nerf, but

If shopee/giant/cs/grab

At 500 or 1k spending
Still generating at 8.33 percent

Probably not so stressful to hit
