I downloaded the iso using Media Tool and burned to DVD, then upgraded a second comp using the DVD. It worked.

I had to download twice, the first time hung at 93%.

Edit: If you still have problems downloading, I can put the iso in Dropbox and PM you the link. You can then burn the iso to a DVD.

Zzz cleaned install using the usb media and my windows 8 key cannot be used to acitvate the windows now im stuck

You cannot do a clean install using the Win 8 key.

You have to upgrade Win 8 first, get the new product key (may not be required as I think it will be stored in BIOS). Check that the Win 10 is activated.

Then do a clean install.

You should have chosen to keep your existing files and programs. The DVD will then be used to upgrade Win 8.1 to Win 10. After this has been done, you can then do a fresh install if necessary.

If i run slmgr/dlv and the descriptions listed the product key channel as retail does it mean that i can reinstall the windows 8.1 using the current cd key on my new pc?

Because i am building my room in Aug so planning to delay the Win 10 update.
Or has anybody tried G2A and actually bought a windows cd key that actually work?

Thanks for the help!

Bought a retail pro from g2a early june and so far it's been working fine. Keys are authentic and eligible for windows 10 upgrade.

To expand on elijahonli's question, does the windows 10 upgrade require a microsoft account login in windows 8.1? Or a local account will suffice?

I noticed I have one folder with that windows.bt something name. But have yet to be notified regarding the time to upgrade. I assume I can choose to wait for my turn to be notified in the coming days?
