Posted this earlier in a Windows 10 thread in EDMW ...

For those planning to buy a thumbdrive to use as an installer, I suggest to avoid buying the Sandisk Cruzer Blade.

I bought an 8gb one to use as a Windows 8.1 Pro installer ... the Media Creation Tool does not detect it even though my existing Windows (7, on the laptop I was trying to do it on) did. The Media Creation Tool successfully detected 3 other thumbdrives - a Toshiba 8gb, an old Sandisk Cruzer Slice 8gb, and 1 more I can't remember what model it was right now. Ended up using the Sandisk Cruzer Slice as my Windows 8.1 Pro installer, and the Cruzer Blade took over the duties of the Cruzer Slice.

Now I need to buy another thumbdrive to use as my Windows 10 installer, I am definitely not going to get another Cruzer Blade.

a lot of feedback are due to 'culture shock'... for me coming from Win 7 i dont find too much difference maybe because i used to have xbox360, the interface also 1 box 1 box type LOL..

Personally i think the boxes are not the neatest in terms of arrangement and failed in trying to make itself look ATAS , like competing with Apple.. i suggest M$ to do what it do best, their applications..

Always check review first before buying

Usually small flashdisk sucks. Even the read/write aint as promised

You pay for what you get.

In this case, the blade.

we are all here just for DX 12...which have yet to prove itself...

Yes, I am only interested in DX12. Nothing else in Win10 interest me. It looks just like win 8.1 which is crappy.

Now win10 looks like an updated version of win 8.1 (put together all the patches, put back the start button and call it win10).

Btw, I am using classic shell. Replace the start button

Only this model works, the rest don't work:

Why would you want XP Mode when now you have HYPER-V? :D
Greatest plus for me is upgrade from Windows 7 = Free HYPER V
Pro tip XPMode embeds a VM Image
need to preserve old licenced programs currently installed within xpmode, so if upgrade those licences wud be lost. and winxp licence wud be lost too...

will kiv ur info, thx.
