Using E-gate MegaThread

I've tried registering a few times, and my registration always fails with the reason being "Permanent Resident (PR) is temporarily not eligible to use gate."

But I'm a pure bred Sgrean. Cannot be becuz I go into msia too many time right lol... Then they think I PR

ah u never try asking for help from JB officer? maybe something to do with recent e-gate outages, so try again another day

He just smiled at me "i duno..."

So just smiled back and said "ok la, no problem bro"

Then went off to makan already

Cuz actually, I've been trying to do this registration since it appeared earlier this year

Everytime, states I'm PR and not eligible at this moment... zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Ok I want to help you but I need to understand your processes taken so far.

Q1: When you said you tried registering, was this done at the Immigration Counter, after submitting MDAC?

Q2: At where/when did you get the PR error message?

still better try to sort out soon. SG Passport cost $1+ per page

No use asking just any officer from the manual counters, as they're there to do manual immigration clearance.

For MACS2.0 matters, approach the designated counters to get the exact processes done and reasons for failure, if any.

Last time, I saw there are Auto-gate counters at Tuas Link JB custom side though - should have.

2nd Link JB CIQ, eGates yes, right side ones for foreigners.

Designated counter for MACS2.0, no. Not even special queue for elderly. Nada.

Could be wrong, but I don't think there's an "old method" since the directives are out about schedule and designated counters, and other manual counters in Woodlands don't do it either.

If you manage to, please update here.

for MDAC first timer, can't go to any counter to enroll. so suggest just go woodlands JB designated MDAC counter for enrollment first. after that u will be able to use e-gate at 2nd JB CIQ

What I did when MACSv2.0 was first launched and I'd an upcoming coach trip via 2nd Link, was to head to Woodlands for the registration. For a good measure, I made another 2 trips to test out before my actual trip.

You can neglect the 2nd part since these days you can use the eGates immediately after registration. That is, test on the same day.

The 2nd Link's eGates IMO have lower fail rate. One just have to be more patient and wait for the process to complete without moving the passport.

left hand side between MY & SG e-gate. monday to thursday only. took quite a while for me to get fingerprint scans successfully registered, good luck!

They've probably removed the banners in preparation for weekend/holiday crowds as they might get in the way.

Travelers need to learn to read the digital signs once again.

Just sharing my experience.
Signed up MDAC online.
Entered by Tuas link using manual counters.
Tried autogate at klia coming back which states for Malaysians only (on the left). Tried 2 times doesn't work. Went back to queue but it was super long n I scared I will miss my budget scoot.
Went to one of the counters to tolong the immigration officer n he asked to show him the MDAC proof. Lucky I was prepared and he kindly helped to skip the lines.
Asked if I can use the autogates in future. He said not sure.
Hengz.. so it was certainly helpful to have MDAC n glad that I met "expensive person" . Must be the blessings from my 2 temple visits in MY.

Didn't mention about needing to go to the counter at JB to register for MDAC. Does that mean I should be able to get thru using autogates in future?
