Just sharing my experience.
Signed up MDAC online.
Entered by Tuas link using manual counters.
Tried autogate at klia coming back which states for Malaysians only (on the left). Tried 2 times doesn't work. Went back to queue but it was super long n I scared I will miss my budget scoot.
Went to one of the counters to tolong the immigration officer n he asked to show him the MDAC proof. Lucky I was prepared and he kindly helped to skip the lines.
Asked if I can use the autogates in future. He said not sure.
Hengz.. so it was certainly helpful to have MDAC n glad that I met "expensive person" . Must be the blessings from my 2 temple visits in MY.😊
Cheers n good luck.

Just found this blog https://www.google.com/amp/s/thesmartlocal.com/read/e-gate-malaysia-singapore/amp/
Didn't mention about needing to go to the counter at JB to register for MDAC. Does that mean I should be able to get thru using autogates in future?
smartlocal info outdated. u need to register MDAC everytime u visit MY if u not using manual counter.

But to use e-gate, first timer need to enroll at MDAC designated counter in woodlands side JB custom.

i don't know if there is any enrollment counter at tuas side JB custom.

Will like to check 2 things about the MADC auto-gate:

1) MDAC registration is only from Mon to Thurs? Or wkends also can register?
2) If wkend can't, I'm coming back on Tues afternoon via train, can the registration be done at Msia immigration side otw back?

Mon to Thurs only.
Registration for MACSv02 can only be done on Entry to JB & on the designated Counter.

Those who got issue with application can check KL immigration. I checked during my relative visit. KL say no issue. Come back register again informed the counter officer. Straight can use. I guess it's some error over JB system. If use egate, better to have no chop.

Just registered for macs this morning. Reached the counter around 830am and queue was relatively short but still took about 35 mins to queue and register for my wife, 2 children and myself.

After which I turned back and look at the queue and the queue was getting longer, reaching over the banner for macs registration.

My family and I all tested the auto gate and all of us succeeded in 1 try to enter Malaysia.

Only issue is for my daughter during registration of fingerprint where she redo around 6 times before succeeding. The rest of us scanned 1 times done.

We tried the autogate directly at right side of the macs registering counter facing the front. Saw people before us trying the autogate at direct left of counter facing front also no issue.

Went in on Monday 27/11 to help wife register for e-gate. Reached queue around 1100. About 40 people ahead, took about 75 minutes. One queue but two officers.
She says it took just 10 sec to complete her registration and went in immediately using the e-gate.
Don't know why the others took so long.
Officers looked at passport only.
I went online in the morning to record our trip of course.
Note the timings and exemptions: Mon-Thu 0700-2000: age > 12 years old, height >1.2m

Officers doing their best to register for those with finger prints issues. So will take some time for those.
