please update if you are able to get rebates? that would be a first for me in years of knowing VQ.

my VQ was down only for that few minutes. after that it went up again. did you try using Google DNS? seems that the bulk of people here having issues are using VQ DNS.

I'm also in SK btw

I'm using Google dns also, and never had an outage except the other day when everyone was down, I was down for like 2 or 3 mins.

Don't understand why ppl insist on using vq dns

They gave me rebates before as mine was down for 1 week.
They told me could be my problem.
I say send a technician down, if its my fault, i pay his labour fees.
End up the technician said its something on their backend, he cant fix it for me on-site. He had to call his guy to do something. Took quite long forgot.

1 week rebated.

Just Google how to change your router dns to Google dns or cloudflare dns. Will take u at most 1 or 2 mins

Basically use google's dns u will have a lot less problem with outages and disconnection on VQ.

Ya but if u didn't challenge them so confidently they won't do anything haha that's vq for u.

Most people not confident enough to say not their fault cause they not so pro haha

U won't notice a difference as there isn't one in speed.

But vq dns server always goes down frequently, thus u see all the outages here.

Wont get that with Google dns

The problem with DNS servers offered by ISPs (this is across all ISPs globally) is that they can be slower, slower to refresh DNS records, less reliable and less secure. No matter what one's ISP is, I will always recommended to use 3rd party DNS.

If set on the router, it means all devices connecting to the internet will use the DNS configured if these devices configure the DNS as automatically get from router. The DNS is normally configured on the main router.

If you set on the device such as PC, it will not take the DNS from the router, and will use the configured one.

Huh?
So setting dns on computer does nothing?
What about other programs using internet? Does the dns affect their speed?

set at router level better i believe, then ALL your connected devices will auto use the Google DNS.

I just did a comparison between Google (8.8.8.8) and Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) dns. seems cloudflare ping is consistently lower (3ms vs 6ms).

https://imgur.com/gallery/38ynTLw

setting Cloudflare as default and Google as secondary now

set on computer is fine too, computer overwrites whatever is set at router level, but u set at router, if your computer is set to 'auto dns' it should follow the router setting too
