Thanks everyone for the warm response!
I'm really thankful that u all spent ur time to reply to me n to do review about it .

It's just so impromptu that i decided to reject the flooring options provided by my ID, again.

I'm super glad that i outsourced mine.
If fact, I'm almost get conned.

The cement ppl came just now. He emphasized if u wanna do vinyl flooring, it is a MUST to have the self leveling compound on top of cement screed, n not the bumpy cement screed done by hand! If not, it's a waste of time and money to install vinyl, cuz there will be a lot of complications afterwards. Pls refer to my previous posts.

I'm totally unaware of this, so far from all the renotalk sites I've surfed, nobody ever mentioned before :(

@Yuppie sorry to hear about your experience with the installers. My installers were decent, total 5 of them. Quick and experience in getting the job done. Probably I was around throughout the whole process to “supervise”. Also after they complete a certain area, I will do a check to ensure that particular area was done properly.

My vinyl (5.5mm) was from their CNY promo, and was installed in early Feb. I would say so far so good, no issue with the installation and quality of the flooring. Mine feels even, maybe because the vinyl “sits” on top of the tiles (I did overlay).

My 2 cents worth. Try to be around to supervise when doing such renovation works (flooring, carpentry, electrical, plumbing etc. If you see anything, you can tell them and rectify on the spot, even it’s just patching up of small holes. Also, no harm be nice and friendly with these installers. When I was renovating my place, I offered them cold drinks, and since I buying coffee, I also asked them if they wanted any. They will appreciate your kind gestures and of course do a good job for you. Even in the future, there are some issues that you need them to rectify, they are more than willing to assist. And if you are striking conversation with these people, you can actually learn a lot on the maintainence tips and garner useful advices from there.

hi i need info urgently

The boss has quoted me 740sqft for my 4rooms hdb, covering 3 bedrooms, walkway n living room.

13cartons of flooring arrived, 13 x 18.91sqft = 737.49sqft

After the installation, still left with 4 cartons! 75.64sqft

I was charged with $5.80/sqft

The boss said he will take back the balance of 4 cartons.

Is it normal???

It's Vincent right?

I feel like I've been quoted with 10% extra wastage, whereby i can't keep the leftover????

I'm staying at waterway sundew, 4room hdb.
He quoted mine 740sqft

If we r staying at the same estate, the area size should be the same.

Edit:

After I've called Vincent, he mentioned that he's willing to refund he the extra 3boxes which was never opened

Thank u neighbor for providing ur purchase details!

Save me hundreds of dollars!

65 SQM I Told him. About 699 sq.ft
Is it same uncle?

See I get fed up with Vincent when he came over to measure he calculated something like thousand over sq.ft I got so angry I told him off, and showed him I’m only doing living, hw & br total 65 SQM. after that he reduce. And I’ve to tell him e colours etc a few times, he’s a smart guy, he’s ok, but must be stingy and careful when u count every mm every feet of your house, there’s so much to do.

Have u paid him yet? Do a proper calculation and tell him how much exactly it should. Tell him we are in a group, don’t upset us.

Lol

I think I'm not fierce enough.
I shall try, grrrrrrrr XD

I've already paid him the full amount as quoted.

He said he needs to see the unopened packs at his warehouse then refund me the money for 3 cartons.

Let's see how, before i posted reviews on their Fb page

Vincent replied.

He said 3cartons x 18.91 x $2.80, $141.83.
I expected 3 x 18.91 x $5.80, $329.
I asked why $2.80?

He said $5.80 is the price includes installation. $2.80 is the balance flooring I've returned without work.

I argued. I've been overquoted, my total area <700sqft instead of 740sqft as quoted.

In fact, I've recorded, 39cartons arrived, only 36cartons opened, with a notable amount of leftover, it's 680.76sft used including wastage, $3948.50

The actual area needed to be covered is <680sqft
But I've been quoted with 740sqft
He estimated almost +9% of wastage

I've paid $4292, refunded $232, means I've paid $4060 for this thing

I've paid = $4060
Actual work done = $3948.50
The differences is $111.50

But i don't want to argue further.

The lesson I've learned from this $111.50

1. Measure ur area size personally.
2. If the seller said need to add X% of wastage, try to talk to them, u will only pay for how many boxes opened.
3. Record the amount of flooring arrived and those left unopened after installation. Take a picture of both.
4. If those left unopened, should be returned as the quoted unit price.

I shall do a vlog about Reno nightmare.

No you have to argue with him. This is what Vincent is like I’ve went through 3 different quote from him before engaging him, I’ve given up on him 3 times before he rush to my place to secure about measurement appt even though I didn’t arrange with him even during that period he tried to over-charge me.

You have to tell him YOU HAVE PAID FOR THE UN-USED INCLUSIVE OF INSTALLATION Take back your installation which he had charged u without installing!!

I was looking around for vinyl flooring too. made a trip to his company a few days ago and was enquiring about the product with him. He is not a very friendly person to deal with, can't really question his product else he may get agitated.

Product-wise i am not sure where its from. I am also concern about toxic emission. anyway his quote given to me was high. offer to discount if sign same day (lousy sales tactic - quote high discount later). I left. Got a feeling that i nv come back again. anyway i still looking ard for a few others, price below his. product oem from Europe.

wonder how he does his bz. my guess mainly commercial projects

I was busy with house moving today,
really no energy to deal with him.

I'll absolutely write a review, w/o including my emotion.
Not to defame but to increase awareness.

Teddy I feel very upset that he did this to u too. You can recover the installation cost that he charged u for no reason once you recover.
I felt he is a very dishonest person because he tried to over-charged me 3 times, he rushed down to my place and gave discount, I sympathize with him coz he is old even though after measurement he tried to cheat again.
