Some feedback - upon activation, unable to receive Otp for maybank and singlife. Send a request via their online feedback form and I managed to receive Otp from these 2 financial institutions after 2 days but I wonder if it was resolved by the techs as I didn't receive any reply from vivifi

2 weeks later. I realised that I was unable to receive Otp from ezbuy and singpost. OK fine, I submit a request again (pending their resolution) and I need to elaborate on the issue in response to their long questionnaire (indoor/outdoor/whether signal bar full/date and time etc)

Today really frustrated becoz I was unable to send out sms as my quota of 100 has been used up which I'm skeptical of it as I'm sure I did not use that much unless all incoming smses are counted. So nevermind I purchased the booster but after my purchase the booster is reflected in my account but I still cannot send out the smses. Bloody hell, no hotline no live chat so I got to wait for their response via email.

Think I wil port out to MR after this

Did you try turning on airplane mode and then turn it off to see if it works? Or trying rebooting your phone.

sms is sent thru cellular network, not the data links.

all the number porting information maintained by a 3rd party central database company. you ported from which vendor ?

i ported from singtel combo2 to singtel 12mths sim only plan to vivifi lite. all my critical essential otp sms were ok from day 1. almost 5 months now, so far so good.

Tks for the proposed remedies. Decided to port out. The competencies of the CSOs (if they are even fitted to be called one) is primarily the reason.

Already asked them to check why my 100 smses (plan) and additional 100 smses (booster) used up so fast within a day when I only sent out less than 20 smses for the month. They took 1 day to repeat what I have said (that I have used up my quota)

Will try MR since I came from M1 and I am willing to accept lousy reception than vomiting blood trying to communicate with vivifi using email. At least the CSO of MR called me to explain wrt to my enquiry (if having to place the $100 deposit) previously

Same here, no issues. Ported to Vivifi from TPG. OTP SMS works. No funny SMS usages etc.

Could it be you have some app(s) using SMS without your knowledge?

I wonder is it iPhone or Xiaomi, always sending SMS for activation.

I port into vivifi end jan and my xiaomi mi note 10 sent abt 25 sms for activation bec i put in a new sim card, almost used up my prorated sms quota.

iPhone should only send one sms for imessage & Facetime activation & may incur charges.

So that's their resolution on the failed OTP. Guess I have to suffer another round of referrals between agencies. Now waiting for their reply on the smses

For Android, u can check the setting at apps & notifications to see which app is accessing the SMS app. For iOS, there is no option for that. The only setting to look out probably is to set "Send as SMS" to off.

Other bros can help if I get this incorrect.
